Day 6

Scissors made short work of breaking into the uh.. "fruit" snacks.

May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.

Day 7

We plan to go out for a Sunday lunch with my wife and kids so for this fancy occasion I decided to carry a fancy knife - the mother of pearl bijou.

There is something magical about the MoP - I really like it, but it is difficult to capture it in the photos.

The MoP is obviously quite delicate so I always carry it in a leather sheet. Regarding maintenance I apply from time to time several drops of paraffin oil to the scales.

I had to look up Colnago.  Bicycles.  I walked about 5 steps from my mailbox and took a photo.  See the Classic?  It isn't as close to the edge as it appears.  Also there is probably a 30 foot drop down to the water.  Can't tell from the perspective.
I put the leash on the Classic, so I wouldn't lose it.  I lost the Classic and the leash yesterday, but found them after a brief search.  Now you know why I have to tie things to my belt loop.  Not a perfect solution.  I have lost my pants before.  Best wishes.  G

How about a Sunday Double Feature?  Exciting, right?  Well, I'll do it anyway.  Night camera photo of a raccoon trying to decide if leftover reconstituted mashed potatoes from a box are edible.  I had the same problem.  Hunger ruled out the matter of flavor.

Might as well see the camera.  With the bungee cord for mounting and a little Bijou from THE BOX.  The bubble wrap is a homemade diffuser for the light.  Keeps the camera from having a whiteout.  Best wishes.  G

it snowed a bit here in new england which was rather welcomed and created a wonderful winter wonderland. here is a shot of the classic alox on my hike out on the back 40.

the classic accompanied me and my wife to church today and later used the scissors to open some holiday candy.

can't believe we're already a week into the Classic Challenge!!  :ahhh

Day 7:

Used the blade--a lot.

This has been my EDC (plus the light on my keys) for the whole challenge.

You know, honestly, I'm beginning to realize that I don't need a bigger folder, despite carrying them all the time. The Kershaw Japan 3000 Delly Wade Officer (DWO) is the largest of the group, and it's only 3.25 closed. I was even surprised that it was just as easy to open with gloves as my bigger knives.

Happy Birthday Jeff & Bob!

Day 7

I thought I'd lost....

Turns out it was in my other pants.  I don't lose pants (yet), just everything else apparently.  Soon to lose my mind I'm sure.

It was a busy day spending time with family then driving back home.  Just a glamour shot with what I'll be slamming my head against tomorrow morning.

May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.

DAY 8

Have been thinking about some tasks I want to do with the classic and spent some time adapting the leather case to include a different in pouch fire steel holder (small stitch to the right) for the fire work, and used the classic to trim out the thin metal plate from a car wiper blade to assist in a lock picking challenge, sorry no pictures of this, as forgot and it just cutting rubber.

Assembled EDC pouch

Lock pick kit

Fire lighting kit

.....and it works, sharpened the side of the nail file to work with the fire steel, and classic to make the feather sticks...this is hard to do with the classic and need to practice

I just had a very enlightening look around the thread to see what everyone was doing.  And carrying.  Hmmm?
Friend Gra has made a nice fire now, so I might as well open some more coffee.  We will make some Cowboy Coffee together.  I am using the little cups made for a Keurig machine.  Of course I don't have one of those.  It is a nice easy way to carry a small amount of coffee with you.  About enough for a couple of cups depending on how strong you like it.  These are from some business called Starbuck's which must be a cafe or something.  Anyway the coffee is okay.
In case someone grew up somewhere they don't have many cowboys, I might explain that Cowboy Coffee consists of water, coffee, a fire, and a pot.  Boil the water.  Add some coffee.  Stir.  Let it sit a while.  Put in a splash of cold water to sink some of the grounds to the bottom.  Drink.  If it's a little gritty, so what?  If you are a cowboy with a paper towel, you can use it to filter the coffee as you pour it into your cup.  Best wishes.  G

Thanks to all who responded to my posts and about the new Workchamp.  Nice responses to a newbie.
Happy belated birthday to you, Bob
Just to make sure Classic is not jealous, he got a new  Nite-Ize hook (thanks to a lead from MTSAK) and is going in his pocket sheath and then into my pocket to run errands today.  The Workchamp gets left behind.  Classic is glowing.
MTSAK, i like your EDC stuff.  Is that a Gen 1, Model 26?
Thanks IMR for noticing my avatar as you suggested.
