I'd been meaning to ask, but Explorer answered with the definitive answer since this is his show.  The challenge ends on January 30 with the last post on that day.  Not the 31st.  Right?
The other question is whether there might not be another award presentation this time.  Like the MiniChamp.  I would like to nominate friend Aztec for 'most likely to perform surgery with a SAK' and friend Gra for 'most likely to break a Bijou' or 'best breakfast' or something.  Just sayin.
Best wishes.  G

PS This venture was fun.  I knew it would be when I saw Explorer was the program director.  The guys all made great posts and pictures.  I enjoyed them a lot.  Also the friends cheering from the sidelines.  G
 :hatsoff:

thank you for the kind words G

yes the challenge does end on the 30th with the 31st being a day of rest or a make up day for anyone who missed a post along the way. Tomorrow I will post the link on where and how to claim the official challenge badge for anyone who has completed the entire 30 days.  :ahhh

Since everyone did such an amazing job sticking with the classic toolset and survived such an arduous and downright evil insidious challenge such as this- you can expect some extra awards being presented tomorrow!  :D

Used the blade to open a couple of packages. One of which contained a grail knife that my brother gave me since he didn't carry it anymore!

Well, it's official... she's mine and never leaving...little sucker bit me peeling an orange. And to add insult to injury, it was the last piece to peel off, and I dropped it in the trashcan. I'm glad I carry super glue in my bag every day. Good as new now.

Didn't get an in action shot, but here's the Classic posing with some chicken tot pie. Helped open the bag of frozen veggies and tots and unwrap the chicken.

Last night I had to open a new pack of toilet paper, I thought the photo was taken, but it wasn't. It was late, so I just went to bed.

The Classic SD opened it's last package for this challenge.  I'll think I'll give it the day off tomorrow for a nice little spa day.

Day 30

Thank you all for interesting challenge!

The classic was sufficient for my daily needs- even bottle opening which was always my biggest concern and related preference for Rambler.

I prefer the classic with a key ring, but not attached to the keys - I found it more useful with a small lanyard in the 5th pocket.
As well I prefer it with scales tools - the biggest surprise for me how good combination is the LED and toothpick on my SwissLite.

DAY 30

Well it have been great fun.  I joined the forum, just so I could do this challenge, after stumbling across the site for Leatherman mods.

My main aim was to get to know the little classic that never gets a chance to see the light of day, and I knew a challenge would make me appreciate the little girl....what I didn't realise is that I would be so welcomed and make a few friends on the way, thank you.....

....so back to the challenge, it's a catch up day today, so there are a number of jobs to do....one of which might bump off the little girl.

So first up, the 'classic' nemesis, the celeriac, wife wants celeriac remoulade again

A bit of horticultural pruning of the dead basil with the scissors

And lastly, I need to cut four more holes in plaster boarding to satisfy the structural engineer, this will be at height, 4 metres above ground on a ladder....as it is still challenge time, and I have only used the classic for all my cutting needs, this might be the little girls swan song.....?

I will update with photos later on....

As a note, I am very impressed with the humble classic, I have not been easy on her, and to date for the challenge, she has been sharpened 43 times, and the edge has needed two reprofiles...she is a little worn, which is difficult to picture, but still looks brilliant.

It seems I got off on some sort of side-track with Loop-Cutter about Boy Scout knives on one thread or another.  I mentioned that I would try and see if the local ACE hardware still had any since I had to go there Monday.  The store was so scrambled that I didn't find anything in the same place.  Used to be some Victorinox BSA knives.  Tinkers and maybe a Classic.  The store was broken into several years ago and they stole the Case knives.  I did see a couple of absolutely hideous Case John Deere knives in a display in the back.  Fixed blade uglies with bright green and yellow bone handles.  Probably better labelled as zombie knives.  I know the thieves left the Uncle Henry case (Chinese knives probably) and a Bear display untouched.  Neither appealed to me before, so I didn't search for them.  Don't know where they put them.
I did pick up some range parts.  That's me opening the wrapper.  And my 58mm helper.  Boring, right?  That's why the preamble was so long.  Best wishes.  Gary (IMR)

I just took an outdoor photo.  The shiny thing is the moon.  It is bright because it is so much closer to the earth here in the mountains.  Black dark outside.  Phone takes great night pix.

There's actually two within an hour of us. That's where we go for the majority of the movies. They do double features for less than a regular ticket at the AMC/Regal, and you get to support a mom and pop.

I never heard of celeriac until I joined this forum.  Learn something new everyday.

That's some good night time shooting Gary.  That would make for a good backdrop.

Thanks to all.  I had a great time taking pics, playing with sharp pointy things, looking through the posts on this thread.     Looking back, I’m sure I made the required one photo per day.   I am still very limited in my,historical SAK knowledge, such as the 100/109mm models listed a few pages back.  I can’t play in that challenge since I do not own any of those models.  It seems my oldest is a 1998 ere Champ.  I’ll be around from time to time.
So here is today’s last photo:
