Second kick clip!
on: December 21, 2023, 07:54:16 AM
So i picked up a kick with a clip for $30 at the beginning of the year with the intent of clipping my second crunch, but i decided i liked it on my old kick, https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,90481.msg2394515.html
So i have been on the lookout for another, and finally while browsing ebay I found a kick with a $2 bid and looking through the pictures, there was the clip! The bid ended at ~ $40 which is a bargain compared to what the clip alone sells for on the bay (over $100)

The last time I sold the donor kick for $15, and after shipping it the buyer winged about "condition" So i ended up refunding him, who complains about condition on a $15 tool?
This time I'm just going to toss it. Not worth the hassle.

So this will likely be the last picture of it... along with the other clippers i have sideclip, clipped kick, crunch one clipped, and soon to be crunch 2 clipped, and the donor

Great idea, a GAW of a clip less SideKick.

Or, you can send my way, I have a thing about old LM and
I am interest  Ed in tool implements and design on the earlier gadgets

Why would you throw away a perfectly good Kick   :ahhh

Like Gordon said do a GAW or give it to him or me or any number of people that would put it to use.

The Kick is an awesome tool in its own right (clip or no clip :ahhh ) I wouldn't get rid of it for that fact that all the parts are also interchangeable with a lot of other LM :ahhh

If you are still set on getting rid of it then do a GAW as been suggested or gift it to somebody :salute:

cnlson, it's a little more expensive option, but a Sideclip clip is a perfect fit for the Crunch.  No modifications necessary.

fine, fine, fine, fine. but i better not hear any complaints about "condition" i swear

Banana or LC, any offers to pay postage? I'm sure it won't be much.
i will sharpen the blade since it looks like they used it for chopping steel pipe. This is to make sure there is no "condition" to complain about.

i've heard that... now i have another goal.
maybe i should put the kick & clip on the bay and take the $130 and use that to buy a sideclip.

But I really don't mind taking the clip off of a kick, a sideclip seems so much rarer to do that with. I actually bought a sideclip a bit ago https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,81603.msg2444035.html#msg2444035
and it was just too nice to take the clip off of.

edit: looks like i can sell the clip without the tool for around a hundy so I'll still give the kick away.

Am I going to get TWO Christmas presents?  One from cnlson and one from friend LoopCutter?  I think Santa Claus just might have to say a big thank you to his two helpers.
I suggested on another thread that one of our recently absent members might get a Vic from one of our UK crew.  She said that accepting a gift made her uncomfortable.  That is her right.  I learned long ago that the joy of giving was often greater than the joy of receiving.  If anyone wants to make me a gift, I would be the last one to deny them the pleasure.
That's why I joined this site.  Not to get any freebies.  I could live with carrying one pocket knife the rest of my life.  Comfortably.  I did it to make some friends.  Discuss things in a civil manner.  Maybe learn something.  I feel like I have succeeded in all of the above goals.  Best wishes.  Gary

i have a cabela's blast to get rid of as well but that one i'd need a few dollars to part with. not enough dollars to make it worthwhile to put on ebay.

All of this Christmas cheer has gotten me in the mood even tho we won't see any snow until actual Christmas Day, the blast looks like it's going to poncho, details TBD, and using that minor windfall I'll cover the postage to imr, making it a true gift.

Merry Christmas to all in the nicest tool forum on the planet!

I think the spirit of being comrades is here on MTo most all of the time.  Just as a reminder, I will be receiving the SoS Surprise Box after Christmas if all goes well.  Thanks to cnlson for his kind gift.  It will be put to good use.  (You could be next in line for the surprise box yourself, cnlson)  Just a little hint.  I don't know what kind of things you like, but there is bound to be something in that 10-pound box of fun.  We need more members who haven't been part of this surprise game involved.  More people.  More fun.  Nobody is officially on the next-to-receive list as far as I know.  Looper mentioned he might possibly take it in January sometime.  That is the only 'maybe' so far I think.  Best wishes. G

Alright the packages are on their way or will be shortly. I know poncho knows "the deal" but since you are new here Gary/IMR "The Deal" is you have to post proof of life. To take Poncho for instance, I know he will post pics of the blast hovering over his coffee cup (after cleaning it up of course) and probably some outdoors shots of it with the blade stuck in a stump, or some such. So you need some action or use pics posted after receipt. if you need guidance just look at poncho's or stevec's profiles and check their posts, they should do advertising for leatherman, their pics are so good. Turn that tool into an over exposed supermodel. Or take it on a hike and use it for whittling. Whatever you do take and post pics. Find the kick/fuse thread  ( https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic=59329.0 ) and revitalize it with pics of it building cars, chopping down trees and such.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good weekend!

Sounds like a deal to me.  I intended to post some photos anyway.  And intended to use/carry it.  I didn't know there was a Kick thread, but I will look it up.  Thanks again and Ho, Ho, Ho.  Best wishes.  Gary :2tu:

cnlson, it's a little more expensive option, but a Sideclip clip is a perfect fit for the Crunch.  No modifications necessary.

(Image removed from quote.)

ok Rich, if i am selling this kick clip and pivot i need more info on this. First do i need the clip and screw only? or do i need the clip, screw and pivot?
what locks the sidekick clip in, rotation-wise?  The sidekick clip has a pin locator and hexagonal hole for the pivot. The kick clip uses a tab and a chicago screw type outside head, So besides the tab what holds the sideclip clip in place?

I could take my sideclip apart but i'd rather not. EDIT maybe i can't take it apart,  is that screw a pentalobe?

i looked at a torndown one on ebay and to me it appears, that there is nothing to lock the clip in place but the tab and pentalobe hs screw which i do not have in my toolkit. If either of these is true i'm going to use the kick clip instead, it locks the clip in place with the splines on the pivot and the locator which i have no problem notching the crunch frame for. I just want the clip stable.

i'm about ready to put the kick clip and pivot on the bay so that i can pay for a sideclip so best to know before i buy.
