SwissGrip bit adapter on a SwissTool?
on: February 08, 2009, 11:27:10 PM
Had a question PM'd to me recently, asking if the bit adapter from a Wenger SwissGrip would work on a Victorinox SwissTool? Good question!

Unlike most bit adapters which fit onto a tool's phillips screwdriver, the SwissGrip adapter wedges onto its long flathead screwdriver. This combination seems quite solid and provides excellent reach. Unfortunately though, there is no similar size driver on the SwissTool. The awl and the small screwdriver come closest (see SwissTool below on left) but both fit too loosely in the adapter. All the other SwissTool drivers are too big to fit at all.

So it appears that the answer is a solid "No" :(
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

The Swissgrip bit adaptor DOES work with the Alinghi though.
The Alinghi has the same long screwdriver as the Swissgrip.

Does your adapter have a magnet in it? Mine has apparently nothing to retain the bits, they just all right out.

Charles.
