Day 4

Yeah, the Dual Force is a beast-of-a-tool for pocket carry, but that's the way I roll.   I can't have this thing loose in my pocket, so I need to add some sort of a pocket clip.  Fortunately, I already ordered something in January during the OHT challenge - it was near the end of the challenge, and I was lazy, so I never put it on my OHT.  It's a universal concealed carry gun clip that's mounted with 3M tape.  It seems a little slim, but 3M tape is pretty strong... it's worth a try.

While mounting the clip, I even used my Slim Drive to help peel off the backing of the 3M tape.

Here's the finished project .  I mounted it for tip-up blade carry.  The clip is just ever so slightly in the way when opening the blade one-handed, but not enough to affect use.  It feels fine when using the pliers too. :tu:

DAY 3
Not much doing today as the Six Nations was on  :woohoo:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_Six_Nations_Championship

The Dual Force is seen relaxing upon the "finger of doom" (named by Mrs Surge) and we (England) were lucky not to have had it shoved where no finger should go  :ahhh

Same here, I have issues with my joints and muscles and it's the reason I find wearing a surge or something heavy a problem. Most I carry is something the size of a FREE series tool and that's a problem some days. The pocket clip moves the center of mass down further and might be easier for me to carry. I'll see what I can get for a clip to make this happen.

Day 5

Cold and blustery here in South GA. The more challenges I join that allow me to carry the Armbar makes me really enjoy this simple tool. The original one is my favorite and Gerber seems to have dialed this one in nicely. I'm able to open the knife with one hand, my trade and scout are way too tight for that. Yes it's got shortcomings like weak springs and stuff but it makes such a simple pocket knife with the additional functions to tighten a screw, snip or poke something. I dare not say it but it's almost a perfect companion, never thought I would say that.

I am inundated with sunflower shells all over the place, so I am trying some spendy sunflower "hearts and chips" to see how that flies.  [<< bird pun].

Day 5

Thanks for the comments on my pocket clip.  :hatsoff:   Here's a shot of it in my pocket... it pulls down on the pocket a lot, but I can't tell while walking around.  It's very bulky, so I can't put anything else in that pocket - there's room, but it's difficult to reach past the tool.  So far, the pocket clip doesn't bother me while using the tool (just the blade so far).

Great experiment with the clip Rich. At least if you don’t end up liking how it carries, you can reverse it with no damage to the tool. If you end up liking it, you could maybe streamline the install and drill and tap the handle for 2-56 screws.

I love this idea, but I lack a drill press and the badass drill bits necessary for that mod  :ahhh

It doesn't feel that heavy as the weight is evenly distributed, but I'd guess the length of the handles is a factor. :dunno:

Powernoodle Day 6

I used the Armbar Slim to scrape dirt out of a seam in my driveway.  I would not trust just any blade for this.

DAY 4 (Catch Up)

A late one for for yesterday. I was called into work and didn't get back until fairly late (on earlies today)
There wouldn't have been much use anyway so here's a glamour one with some weeds I got for Mrs Surge  :twak:
