I picked one of these up yesterday.
For those of you that don't know, I'm still repairing my basement following last summer's floods, and I'm at the point where I need to rip drywall for the subfloor. I've been using a 4" saw I got off Amazon a while ago and, at the risk of making a bad pun, it just wasn't cutting it.
I had a nice circular saw before, but it was part of a cordless set (two drills, reciprocating saw a d circular saw), and when the batteries finally died, it was worthless to me.
Since then I have vowed to buy corded tools whenever possible and that's what I did. I've already gotten a DeWalt drill and a DeWalt reciprocating saw to replace the parts of the set I had, and finally I have gotten a full sized circular saw too.
I am sure the new blade factor has a lot to do with it, but between that and a more powerful motor I'm really liking this thing. Cutting 5/8" plywood is absolutely effortless with this thing.
