Day 20

I’d tell my younger self that everything is gonna be alright and to do what you love to do so well, that someone eventually pays you to do it.  Focus on experiences, rather than possessions.  Chase knowledge, and take time for yourself.

Nice pic and good advice,Legend! :like: :tu: :tu:

Day 20

What would I tell that young girl?
I’d tell her, you’ll be okay.  People will look after you when you go through some tough times, even the lunch ladies at the high school will give you free lunch tickets when they know you don't have any money.
You will have a rewarding career where you help people, just like you always wanted.
You may move around a lot as a kid, but once you get your first house with th
e help of your dad (thanks dad), you’ll stay there for over 40 years and counting.

Nice NOS Leap!

Great advice, FoBe! :like: :tu: :tu:

This has been such a fun challenge.  I know there is still more fun to be had but I wanted to pop in to say, great job from everyone participating  :hatsoff:.  Well done hosting FoBe.

I was lucky to find a Leap at my local flea market well after they were discontinued.  I need to dig it out at some point.

Thank you, Aloha!

And thank you for following along. :)

The Leap is actually a very useful compact multitool!

I especially appreciated the comparison pics.  I think LC had a great marketing idea with the Wave/Leap combo pack.  Marketing the Leap as a kids tool short sold this terrific tool.  I hope one day I can stumble upon a green one.  I am happy I got a one at all.

Here's to you all in this challenge.

Hi Aloha, glad you stopped in.
The green one is the only one I'm missing.  Bought one on eBay and the seller sent a red.  Bummer!
Rest in peace ColoSwiss, you will always be remembered.

Wowzers,  I realized this morning notifications for this challenge quit  updating me :dunno:

I just read 5 pages plus, since 2/12(?)

You three are NAILING this challenge and I truly luv the Challenge within the the Challenge FoBe keeping it real.

Since this is the 20th,

My younger self would be instructed to never waste time trying to impress others that criticize  or  are negative toward you  or love ones, even if family.

And, you can NEVER tell your loved ones to often how  much you love them.  Never know the last moment that may be shared.

If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

DAY 21

I used the blade to cut up another box. :)

Also, here is a picture of the Leap with an EKA Swede 82.

@ FoBe

A better picture of my two GEC Beaver Tail for you.  PS: I did have two Buck folders display on top, a Saunter and a 301 BOTM!  I will now have to begin balancing the display, less CASE models!

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Both are Brazilian Cherry, smaller is model 871223.
The larger is a 235220, obtained via trade with SOS24 a couple years ago.

You have a good eye!  For quality…

Carry on👍

Day 21

After watching Vicman and Legend cut up some boxes, I thought I'd try it.  I don't like it.  The blade goes where it wants and I ended up just tearing the box and I still didn't get it broken down.  :ahhh

DAY 22

Here is my Leap with the main tools I use to keep all my using
blades shaving sharp. :)

The 2 double-sided leather strops each have a coarse side and a
fine side and will remove a very small amount of metal to restore
a razor edge.

The black handled Whitby & Co. Sheffield Pocket Steel, when used
regularly, will maintain a sharp edge very nicely. The steel
reallgns the edge without removing any metal from the blade and
it will keep the edge razor sharp.

The Buck STEELMASTER  has a coarse side and a fine side and will
remove metal fairly easily if the edge has become dull. Also the
side edge of the STEELMASTER can be used like a steel by using
light strokes to finish restoring the edge.

The bottom one is an EZE-LAP Model "M" Diamond rod sharpener. It
is 600 grit and will restore a dull edge quickly. It is the most abrasive of the bunch.

AND I use to   you used cardboard for your stropping needs.

Impressive assortment. I to have learned the benefit of stropping a knife blade verses hitting the stone.

👍👍👍
