I don't use my lighter on a regular basis, so it stayed in a small utility bag with a zip tie on it to prevent gas leak.

April Firestarting Challenge
Fire 1 of 30

So I'm going into this with a self issued sub-challenge to start a fire each day, as well as a picture of the means of starting the fire. Today I'm taking the easy route by using a Bic lighter to melt frays on a cable sock before running wires into it. On Saturday I was up in the mountains and found this lighter on the ground, and it actually worked. Since I knew I'd be participating in this challenge I slipped it in my pocket. It will likely make a few appearances this month.

At the last minute I decided to join. I don't normally carry fire making stuff unless I'm camping so this will be a little bit of a change for me.



Starting simple today with just a zippo. It's one I carried in the army. I nevered smoked but it's amazing how nice people became when you offered them a light.

The fixed blade is a knife I'm in the middle of rehandling

Starting out really serious today…  :rofl: I have actually only used one of these. No time for a fire today and even though it’s nice out.  It works well but takes the fun out of it.

Today I carried an Imco Triplex lighter.  I have two others, but this one I had recently found on ebay. a fun lighter.  The sog I don't normally carry, but it was on my desk and I didn't want to look for my rebar, my normal carry.

At the last minute I decided to join. I don't normally carry fire making stuff unless I'm camping so this will be a little bit of a change for me.

Starting simple today with just a zippo. It's one I carried in the army. I nevered smoked but it's amazing how nice people became when you offered them a light.

The fixed blade is a knife I'm in the middle of rehandling

Day 2



I have Bic lighters laying around the apartment and sometimes I would just rotate and carry a different one for a spin.  Today I use it to finish up all the zipper pullers on Little guy's fencing bag.
