I never thought the evolution scales sculpting did much to aid grip. They do look nice, though. I can see how the evo-grip scales would, though I personally don't like the rubber insert approach. Seems less durable.Regarding the locking driver, I assume it works by elongating the pivot hole in the tool? If so, does the tool sliding back and forth across the brass pin accelerate wear in that area of the pin?
I thought the Evolution scales were only nice-looking scales, until I had to eat some chicken thighs with a Wenger Evo 16, and found the best grip I've ever had on a knife during this task. It becomes almost instinctive on my hands, and great for almost every job I try to do with it. Regarding the locking screwdriver, it may increase wear on the pin, but non of my old, used and abused Wengers show that wear, so I still like it!

I've taken apart two used Wengers that have the slide locking Cap lifter/Driver and didn't notice any abnormal wear on the pin.
The innovations are coming thick and fast, now. At last we have what the World has been waiting for, a dedicated SAK for your espresso machine:https://www.victorinox.com/en-GB/Products/Swiss-Army-Knife™-and-Tools/Trades-and-Crafts/Victorinox-x-La-Marzocco-Barista-Tool/p/1.5924.LMA
With awl the barista-driven propaganda and they left out from the tool list the Nozzle remover and the Coffee Spatula.
How prudish can you get!
The forum software won't let you post the word "special ised" without the random space, because it contains the name of a medicine used for erectile disfunction.
It seems they're releasing several new locking blade models as well. https://www.reddit.com/r/victorinox/comments/1o2qfvv/3_new_models_with_a_locking_blade_coming_out_this/?utm_source=embedv2&utm_medium=post_embed&utm_content=post_body&embed_host_url=https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/new-locking-saks-coming.2053412/
Its not about being prude, though that would be up to the forum owner. It prolly does that to block spam words.
