Great pics,  zdec :like: :like:

:o I did not know that about the new yellow flame butane insert :ahhh :woohoo: :like: :like:
Yes, the Zippo yellow flame is newer but the Thunderbird has been around a while.

Zippo also has an electronic ARC insert, but I haven’t tried that one.

I only have the single flame butane insert, didn't feel the need for the 2 flame one  but I have wondered about the electric ones

May have to get the yellow flame butane one though :dd: :like:

After years, of looking, I found one model that seem to call out each time (multiple times).

A belated birthday gift to me… with $s received.

New to the club!🙄
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Discovered subliminal influence in my knife room. My son  who collects Zippos since collegeroduc left this above his former bedroom door.

I also found a box in the corner with several other signs, reproduce items I am sure, but still 20 years old.

That is a pretty cool sign LC and can see where it could cause subliminal messaging.

Saw the Zippo car a couple years ago.
Kinda dated.  I think the Jeep was cool.

My latest find.
This one spoke to me as well, yet out of stock at several sites, then when thought I missed out, I find this one, two days later at my door.

Thank you

I am very selective on majority of my purchases, including these new  pretty shining gadgets.

My son gifted me a display case for my sharp and shiny items.   I can now display for easy viewing and appreciation.

And actually, having the ability to remind me what I have curbs the impulse to purchase additional items .

I'd agree.  When things are stored away and unseen the appreciation can be less.  Sure, when we stumble upon them the excitement returns but having them out is a daily reminder of the wonderful things we have.

I like to have a play with my collected items from time to time.  I can enjoy each time while making sure they are good to go.

Sadly, I have gone off my Zippos.

I found refilling them rather annoying, even though they are great when they are full.

I have now gone over to an electric style of lighter.

its waterproof, reliable, rechargable from any usb port, and seems to have no problems starting my fire starters or any dry swarf.

Sorry guys, technology wins out over looks.

No problem!  Nice  lighter, looks heavy duty.

You are aware Zippo makes a rechargeable insert as well,
https://smkw.com/zippo-rechargeable-insert-purple-plasma

Also, a bit driver insert for screw driver utility.

This besides the standard and butane torch options.

Whenever I make it out to the flea market I'll pick up a Zippo then a dual flame insert.  In the mean time I use Bic.  I do have one of those lighters Valkie and their good  :tu:

I have been eyeing the bit driver insert.  Give me a reason to carry 2 Zippos.

A scene from my youth repeated often after school and weekends with my pup SAMMY,  if I missed the first sighting he always brought the rabbit around for a second time.   A December day in Michigan!🥰

I've been trying to fill my single torch insert, but it does not want to work. :(
Couple things to possibly check/try:

- Verify piezoelectric ignition is creating a spark

- Turn the flame adjustment up

- Hit the burner with some compressed air

- Hold the insert upside down and use a small screwdriver or similar tool to depress the fill valve to vent any air that may have accumulated inside the insert.  Then refill.

These inserts are refillable, but this doesn’t mean they last forever.

Personally, I found that these inserts were great when they worked, but their finicky nature and the relatively small number of lights per fill ultimately lead me to abandon them and go back to disposable Bics.
