Perhaps true for you urban dwellers, but for us rural types, a saw is a must (hence the name "Farmer" and not "Street person"  ;))

When one's out for a walk with the lady of the manor, if misfortune descends and one finds a troublesome florabunda cane, one would not want to pull out a mundane workhorse like a LM ALX.  This is a situation for the elegant, yet forceful Vic Farmer--The gentleman's tool  :D

My EDC is rather boring, but functional.

I also keep a full kit bag in the car. Some might refer to it as a BOB, but I've reclassified it as an urban comfort kit. Everything is contained in a 30 litre rucksack. Not pictured is a full change of clothing, waterproofs, 2 pairs of gloves and boots. The bits that may interest you folk are:

If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

Hi All,

This is my EDC stuff if I'm going to work, if I'm just going out I'll drop the Leatherman and the M16 knife as we can't carry knives here unless its for work.

Pretty typical stuff I guess although I don't carry a torch 24/7. The rescue cutter lives in a home made sheath in the wallet with the two thumb drives and I wear the watch on my belt 'cause I tend to bust things on my wrist.

The phone is the latest incarnation of the rugged nokia so its water dust and shock resistant which is handy, I got the extra plastic case as well as backup since this is the first time ive ever spent more than $20 on a phone. pager is 'cause I'm a volunteer firefighter. LM on the keychain is a squirt s4

hope you like

crofty

Thanks guys,

I do a couple of different jobs, but essentially my background is natural resource management and especially invasive species control (plants and animals). I also work for our national parks service at the moment so I am always doing maintenance and stuff at national parks so I'm always whipping out the knives and multitools to fix little things that people have vandalised around the place.

I'm also a volunteer firefighter with our Rural Fire Service and we occasionally get called to car accidents so thats the main reason I've got a few of the more rescue orientated tools. To be honest we don't go to many but I think its always a good idea to be fully prepared.  :D

I love the boker and play with it incessantly. I have to say though that I haven't really found a solid niche for it, I have other things that I seem to use every day and its been sitting around a bit recently. However I'm putting a first aid kit together to include in my fire gear and I think it won't be at all out of place there.

Thanks mate, don't get too excited by the firefighter thing, I'm only a vollie and only in bushfire situations mostly. Good excuse to buy tools though!
