Thank you! :salute:
It is a Zippo insert, inside a "Made for Zippo" Italian Sterling Silver case. 80% silver content, so the case is pretty strong. I have one that is 90% and it dents too easily :ahhh

Those Fenix lights, like yours, seem bullet proof. My dad has carried one on his keys for almost 10 years I believe. Whenever the LD01 came out. Very cool. :)

I'll have to check those out. Any links to them?

I've been carrying this light for about 6 years now, so far has been bomb proof. I have a buddy who lives in very rural Honduras and has several Fenix lights that have also been bomb proof

EBay search Sterling Italy Silver Zippo case or something similar. This is the only one I saw with a quick search.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-STERLING-800-Italy-Silver-Lighter-Etched-Zippo-Insert-Made-in-USA-/253828583040
I did not know they were selling that high.
Oh well, since mine have some minor dents and what-not, I'll just enjoy them. :)
I got mine for $20ea at the antique store I work at. They only have a few bucks worth of silver in them. The Italian hand engraving is gorgeous though and I'd pay up to $50 for another if I "needed" it. I'll take a photo of the ones I have and post the in a bit. :)

I am going to order one of those LD01 Fenix lights this weekend. Thank you! :salute:

Thanks for the help!

Unfortunately the LD01 has been discontinued. It was replaced by the LD02. It's supposed to be a good light from what I've read, but it's a different design. It has a clicky, which I'm ambivalent about, but it uses an optic instead of a reflector so it has a more floody beam. Since its my edc light, I personally prefer a little bit more throw

I'll try and source a LD01 if I can. I have used Maglites too long, so clickers would take time to get used to. :ahhh

Here are a couple of photos of the three Italian made cases(two full size and one half size - all use Zippo inserts) and one that supposedly came from China - marked Sterling(that is the 90% silver one that is really soft). The one on the right is my off-day EDC choice and the other full size is a backup, in the event I lose my main one. :ahhh

I hope these photos can help you decide on which style to look for. :salute:
