Today is a very special day for me because my wife and I finally became first-time homeowners at the spry young age of 44. (That's what happens when you spend the first 25 years of your adult life in a place where starter condos are over $1m and international investors are pouring in with all-cash offers.)

With that in mind, my loadout today is a bunch of "firsts":

My first Leatherman (Charge TTi)
My first fountain pen/rollerball set (Cross Century II)
My first multipen (Rotring 4-in-1)
My first EDC flashlight (Olight Arkfield; yes, I started carrying a flashlight very late)
The first SAK I bought myself (Swisschamp XLT; I have my first ever SAK that I was gifted, but it's packed with the movers)

That's an excellent light.  Unfortunately, mine came on in my pocket and melted the plastic lens.  Olight was great and sent me a replacement.  I now own the flavor that visible, UV and laser on it, which is also excellent.  When I carry it, though, I put it to sleep so it doesn't ignite in my pocket.

Having a laser is a lot like having other EDC items like a mini Sharpie.  You don't know how much you need it until you start carrying it.

What do you find yourself using the laser for? My regular EDC flashlights are the Arkfield Pro and Arkfield Ultra, so I’ve got the laser, but I haven’t found many uses for it.

For mine, the Leatherman Mini Tool BO are not common nor especially cheap, but they are not rocking horse sh_ite.
This is a real unicorn sighting … ageless beauty … ps do notice those damascus tools sleeping in the handle.

Bought two black MiniChamps (0.6381.23) and a silver in the dim distant past (2014) for ~US$40 each on eBay. I thought the black was a standard model but seems it's now out of production.
