Great post, GB. I too like the wire stripping capabilities of the Spirit. I prefer it over my Leathermans. I think the blade is sharper and I think the outward facing tools make it more comfortable, at least to me.

Thanks, MrTJ.  I agree with all that.

Day 23: Put the Spirit to work installing a window AC unit.

That looks familiar.  :like:  Between ours and family members I open new ones, put in and take out 6 a year, and open them up to clean all with my Spirit.

Day 23

Used the scissors to cut some zip ties securing packaging for a new bike pump.  I also used the pliers to fix a circuit connection on my AC and the awl to get some gunk out of a crevice...no pics of those last two,  though.

Thanks TJ!  When you need a multitool, this is a great one to have! Very nice couple of Spirits.  Those black ones are sure sweet!

Day 25

The mighty awl! Anyone use the Spirit version for sewing? I wonder if the hook would aid in pulling thread? I myself poke things and drill starting holes and make marks in wood.

My wife has used the awl and hook on my Climber for knitting and crocheting.  The Spirit looks s little more challenging but I'll see if I can get her to try it.

More scissors to assist with opening a stubborn package. I am 100% a thumb user. :)

The longer I use these scissors the more I like them.  They have their limitations but I'm figuring ways to work around that.

Day 27

Used my new tome XBS to open a package containing a few to me "S"....

A few scratches and scuffs. Needs a good sharpening and oiling, but excited to add a user to my arsenal. I am partial to the S version as I usually carry another SAK with scissors as a companion knife.

I would too TJ.  It's rare I don't have a Minichamp, Classic, etc on my keychain so that looks like a great version to have  :tu:

I have the same feelings, Barry...works, but not great. So far I have used all functions of the Spirit this challenge, except cutting/stripping wire...but that could change this weekend.

Day 28

Spirit wheel....

I have another Butter blade and XBS in my collection,  but they are tucked away as spares at the moment.  If I could only find a Roadtour in good condition to round out my collection.

:like: That's a nice collection TJ.  It's amazing the variations in these tools, as well as the larger Swisstool.

Day 29

Pliers came in handy today getting a stuck light bulb socket from a broken bulb out on my garage door opener. Also used the pliers to bend the metal tab so ot makes full contact with the bulb. Worked well, and now my garage door opener lights up as it should.

Day 30

I used the cap lifter to pop the top of a nice cold beer. This has been a fun challenge.  It reinforced my like of the Spirit MT, in all of its flavors. Very much one MT that has everything you need and nothing you don't. Victorinox got so many things right on the tool. It's slim profile is something a really have come to appreciate for pocket carry too. I have long been a LM user and like the Surge, but the Spirit might have become my all time favorite over the last year or so.  I really enjoy the tool and all it has to offer and see myself continuing down this path in the future.

Cheers!
