I thought the rice was cook in twice as much water for 10 minutes, then turn off heat and let it steam for 10.  Nope.  Already cooked.  Just needed a microwave.  I put in a little water and heated it on a stovetop.  Thank goodness I added water.  Bland and unremarkable.  Win some.  Lose some.  I ate it just because I am stubborn.  Plus I knew the raccoons and possums wouldn't eat it.
Had a raccoon attack a couple of counties over.  The wildlife people have gone through two series of dropping rabies vaccine baits.  Still some rabies around evidently.
Oh yeah.  The See-Through is a Spartan.  Best wishes.  G

That flavoring shouldn't have rendered the rice bland. Nothing a liberal dousing with chipotle Cholula wouldn't fix, I guess. You did win one with the SAK!

Looking good Gary!  We have raccoons around here too, but typically don't see them unless they're rabid.
Nice Spartan!

Nice.  That one would have been good for the Greenie challenge, Magnifying glass challenge, as well as the See-Through Sunday thread.  It is still long sleeve weather here.  Temps down to 50F or a little under lately with strong winds and rain.  All that ends this week, I think.  Best wishes.  G

I agree.  It's the same here Gary.  Sunny and cool for now.

A great representation of emerald, Juan! :2tu: I wouldn't swap weather with you, though; the window A/C units haven't been put in place yet, and I'll see those kind of temperatures later this week anyway.

Look out!  We have a weather update from Juan.  Let me dig out my bicycle-focals.....  There are lots of extra dials and things on this temperature-thingy..... Best I can tell it is just under 32 degrees.  Brrrrrr.  I hope you didn't have any tender plants outside.  The freeze would probably nip them.  I had an electric space heater on Thursday.  It wasn't all that cold in the house, but the heater does a fair job of drying out wet clothes.  A pair of soaked jeans in this case.  I hope the bottom dial on your register isn't a hurricane indicator.  Wowsers.  Best wishes.  G

Nice see-through Cyber.  101 in Idaho, 50 in NC, 31 in Puerto Rico.  Something is upside-down.  Supposed to be cooler up north and toasty down farther south.  Strange.  Best wishes.  G

But that 32 degrees is celsius, it is 88° F and very humid so it is pretty hot!!!

The bottom dial indicates humidity or, "it tells wether you'll be able to dry after a shower or be quite wet and soggy for the week"!

Funny you should say that, as hurricane season started today. :o

I had all the hurricanes I wanted last year.  Someone finally cut down the two sycamore trees that had fallen over the Cullasaja River near my house.  One had a duck boat lodged in the branches.  Big, tough old trees.  Probably 5 feet through at the base.  Must have taken a dozer and pulled them out after they sawed them off.  These things grow right by the water, or partially in the water.  These had been leaning over the river for decades.  Best wishes.  G

Cybertool M 34. I wish it had Black Onyx scales and not the brown ones they issued later but they are hard to come by and way over priced now.  Victorinox should have the Black Onyx scales for aftermarket like they do for other translucent colors. The Sapphire Blue are definitely better than the Ruby Red.

A Tinker and an Althea.  I used to have a bunch of these flowers, but they have mostly died out.  Big favorites of the hummingbirds and insects.  Some people call them 'Rose of Sharon.'  Friend Juan has taken a liking to the thread, so I couldn't let him do it by himself.  Best wishes.  G

Yes, totally true; I really like how the jemstone/jelly colors pop under sunlight! And to think it was because of the mag lens challenge and "having" to carry my Emerald ...     :tu:

And thank you for coming along!!!
