I was wondering when we would feature a canine on the thread.  Snoozy Coco.  It rained again yesterday like it has for the last two weeks.  There was one day dry enough to mow some, and what happened?  Busted a belt on the mower.
The grass isn't quite high enough to hide a gator.  Yet.  I got out my old walk-behind mower and fired it up.  It would go about 75 feet, then bog down and quit.  You know the MTo rule.  One is none.  Two is one.  Sometimes two is none.
I put out some fake mashed potatoes for the vermin last night.  Might post a photo later.  Best wishes.  G

Translucent scales, Kick, Skele, and Coco! :like:

I found another one earlier today, but it's gonna need a little cleaning before I photograph it.

Seems to be a good day for screwdriving on See-through Sunday.  Our friend Zeno has a nice Mora badge now.  No Morakniv for sale in my little town.  It is easy to find a CASE but not much else.
All the little gas stations and convenience stores always had a CASE display.  Always up front near the cash registers and the cigarettes.  Almost every one of those little businesses have been broken into and the thieves took....... CASE knives and cigarettes.
If there are any easily stolen items that can be converted to cash it is those two items.  They stole the CASE knives from the display at ACE hardware in town.  There were some Bear and Sons and Schrade.  I think they left those.  Also I saw some ugly green John Deere CASE knives the last time I was in the store.  Too ugly to steal, I suppose.  They also sold Victorinox Boy Scout knives, but they were not close to the other nice displays and got overlooked.
     Best wishes.  Gary

I was born in October so I think my birth stone is pink, which means no see-through birthstone scales for me :(. Here's my addition for this Sundays' see-through post. I think I may use this thing for the monster challenge instead of lugging around both a Swiss Champ and a Cybertool M. I wish they still made any of the other Cybertools. I'd love a Lite or perhaps an S. Edited to add, posted with the book that I carry around like a safety blanket. It's the best book on Proto-Indo-European ever written.

The book looks interesting.  I think I will wait for the movie.  That's a nice see-through for today.  Maybe B-A-R-R-Y won't see it.
Are you enjoying your time off?  Did you ever figure out where your lost Wenger went?  Best wishes.  G

Haha, I can't wait for the movie either! I think Daniel Day-Lewis would be perfect for the part of "Class II Strong Verbs post-development of *ei > *ī," but I hear he's retired now :(. The break's going well, but all I can think about is the dissertation that's looming over me next year :ahhh. I think I've narrowed the Wenger down to my dad's place in my childhood box of knives over there, along with a few older SAKs and I hope a Craftsman with a Volvo logo, but I can't remember exactly which model it was. I think I even have an Ambassador with a flamingo on it over there. I should be going over there to visit in a few weeks, hopefully.

Very pretty.  I don't think Rally is as popular as Classic, but I like the tool set.  That combo is really handy.  Great for picking up small things with the magnetic tip.  Best wishes.  G

It really is.  I thought I had another one, that I was going to use for parts to make a blade less SAK for my son, but I don't.  Guess I need to pick up another one.. or more.  :D

I see people doing mods and talking about taking SAKs apart and building new ones; in all honesty, how big of a learning curve is there to this?

I hope friend Tuisto got an adequate answer about doing a mod.  Of course you know the 'making a mod' is just a symptom of the Sak-a-holic disease.  It usually ends in frustration which is the best cure.  Enough frustration makes the 'mod' thoughts go into remission.
Yes, it is See-through Sunday again.  A day early for continental US, but hopefully on time for friends in countries farther east.  Let's see, I think I took a photo of a transparent Tinker.  I ate the cookies already, but there is soda.  Best wishes.  G

It is too bad nobody came to last Sunday's see through.  I brought sandwiches.  Deviled ham with potato chips.  Mmmm.  I wound up eating them all myself.  Anybody else like potato chip sandwiches?
We will try again.  Spartan with daisies.  Probably would have been more flowers, but I forgot what they were and weedwacked them down.  They grew back pretty well considering.  I didn't plant them anyway.  Strictly wild flowers.  Best wishes.  G

Daisies grow wild around my place, too. I hope I'll remember to clean up the other translucent SAK and get a photo tomorrow.

Agreed on both accounts Anti and Farmer.  They could do worse than releasing ones for the 91mm and 93mm line.

So I'm not sure if Wenger ever produced a translucent brown scale or if this is the faded Onyx scales I read about.  Anyone know for sure?
