Day 20

Wurkkos TS10V2

As said in the past, I quite like the offering from Sofirn and Wurkkos, overall quality is decent and some of them are full of surprises.  This particular 14500 (AA sized Li-ion rechargeable) light hosts triple leds and uses Anduril 2 as its operating menu, but it costs a lot less than a regular Handlight or other flashlight that uses Anduril menu.

Day 21

The Lion Heart was probably one of the very first led flashlight with variable output, made by a fellow CPFer.

Way back when led tech was just starting to pick up, most buyer would be happy to see multiple level output in a flashlight, if it was even offered at all.

So a variable level output was a pretty big deal for most flashlight enthusiats.

Day 21

Atka Cube. Quite handy. High, low, strobe. Rechargeable. Loop for a carabiner and magnetic base.
I keep it dangling in my backpack to find stuff in the dark.
Nice collection of orange!  :like:

Day 19

I brought the E5 along with us, since being away with only rechargeables felt a little risky. Someone was asking earlier, so here's the mode switch in action. 3 clicks on the top button while in basic "moonlight" mode switches between AAA and Li-Po.

Green light for Li-Po
[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]

Blue for AAA
[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]

And you can almost read the labels here:
[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
Thanks for the pix!  It is still not very common to see dual fuel source being offered for flashlight, and I think that seems to be a pretty good product for attempting that.

I have a couple Sorfirn, but never tried Wurkkos.  I might just need to especially with that green.

More great stuff, y'awl! :like:

I still need to take a few action shots, but that has to be done pretty much right before I turn in or right after my alarms sound. The sun setting at 2113 (9:13 PM for those who don't understand the 24-hour clock) and rising at 0557 gives me a tight time frame for flashlight action shots.

🔦 DAY 21 🔦

my bedside home defense light is this emisar DT8K from hanklight with 8 osram W2 emitters. My friend measured it with his light-meter and it hit 8000 lumens on turbo and up to 410,000 candela. i like to keep the auxiliary lights on the color red because then it can double as a nightlight or map light that won't interrupt night vision.

Decided to switch the E5 onto the keychain. It's a little bulkier than I usually keep on there, so not sure how it'll go.

During the heat of summer, I often wait until after sunset to take Fisher for a walk, which means the NU25 sometimes comes in handy

I think Sofirn is very likely made by Wurkkos, if I am not mistaken.  I have seen the 'Sofirn' section within the main flagship store from Wurkko on a shopping platform.

I think I got this Jetbeam RRT01 2 years ago(?) based on Sos24 recommendation, and that no doubt was one of the best value buy of that year.  The collar is a infinite variable output adjustment ring, and the overall construction and performance of the light is decent.  Too bad it was discontinued, and the later iteration wasn't as good as this one.

I totally agree.  I keep one on my nightstand.  It is a great light.  I added tritium to the tail so I can always find in the dark.

That makes me even more tempted to check them out.

Day 22
A pair of Mateminco CSF04.  The purple has lived on my keys for a few years and the translucent lives in the dog walking bag for almost as long.  Other than the translucent one glowing in the dark after, they both have the same features

The main light is a step-less ramping which I love and can give off plenty of light.  It also has a strobe.

It also has a slew of side light features that include UV, red, blue and different red/blue flashing.  Although these features being the same, the function is impacted by the case color.  For example, here is the purple and translucent side by side with the red light on

Here is the translucent with red light on

I think the ideal case is as a backup in a bag, glovebox, etc. to complement another RoryVon that you EDC. You can store it with the AAA rubber banded on or in a ziplock so you have it if the LiPo dies, and then your backup light has similar features and controls to your primary.

Those are spiffy.

Day 22

Angel Eyes came on in my pocket today, something that didn't happen with the Aurora at all in the longer time I carried it. Could've just been bad luck, or the bigger size might make it more likely to get wedged against something the right way. Will continue pocket carry for at least a bit longer and check back.

🔦 DAY 22 🔦

today the red Rook by Reylight was my carry along with some other items. the rook and my farmer X fit perfectly together vertically in the coin pocket of my jeans which makes for a nice easy and convenient carry.

the triple nichia 519a emitters in 4000K really have a nice color rendering index

My L2 gets used daily, but I like using my TK10 to charge the lume on my watches .
Currently the Maranez Kata is getting wrist time (ok I'll stop with the puns now ).
The batteries are on the way out,so the lume is a little flat

I can see why one would want a colored light since it maybe easier to find than a translucent light.  But that performance does suffer quite noticeable, especially if the translucent body is also a GITD body.

Hmm...I think that's one hard criteria when I choose a light, whether it would turn itself on in a pocket or a bag.

I used to have a headlamp from Petzl, but the button is so easily depressed that most people have to carry it in a designated semi-hard case(also made by Petzl).  I understand maybe that's part of their strategy, but that just add unnecessary bulk and inconvinience that I could just live without.
