Size comparison. The mini champ is very small right beside the XXL.

That 93 mm awl is nice to have. Had to bore a hole in a piece of wood. Was a piece of cake.

Actually I prefer the combo tool to the standard bottle opener.

Day 30 and 31:

Yesterday was a quick pack, and then a drive to our cabin for the long holiday weekend. Not much time for SAK usage, but I did cut up a tomato and cucumber from the garden for lunch.

Today I had to open a new water jug and create a vent hole, to make my morning coffee.

All in all, it’s been a great month with the SwissChamp. It’s a bit bulkier than my usual alox SAK carry,  but not overly so. I think the SwissChamp actually carries better during the cooler months, when I’m typically wearing jeans with a large watch pocket. But it still rode okay in my summer shorts pocket.

The extra tools were definitely handy, especially the pliers and package hook. I did use the scissors from time to time, but I’ve generally gotten used to only a blade for cutting duties. I do much prefer the 93mm alox inline awl over the 91mm backside awl, but that’s my only real critique.

This month only cements my longstanding belief that the SwissChamp is the pinnacle of the 91mm line, and sits comfortably in my Top 5 Favorite Swiss Army knives of all time.

Pliers are perfect for opening plastic boxes. You know, those types where you need to break away a small piece of plastic.

This challenge was fun. The SC is not as heavy or cumbersome as I thought, this being my first real more than 2 layers SAK.
Most tools were useful and used.
I really like it, except for the fact it is difficult to carry other than on the belt. Kinda difficult at work in my work environment. I prefer an MT I can put in my wallet (PST) for that. I can't see the SC in a wallet, maybe, come winter, in the 5th pocket ? I'll have to try.
All in all, my interest in SAKs was rekindled. I need to try an alox now to see if it lives up to all the hype.  :D
