I'm still over the moon about it  :D Its funny but I still don't know how much they are going to pay me  :o  :ahhh :ahhh  Although I do know its going to be quite abit more then I'm on now  ;)
Now there is a draw back  :( The job is seasonal but I will earn the same as what I would earn all year with my present hours .I do have some plans for temp work come the winter .My fuel costs will be cut in half plus I get sick pay and I will actually be getting paid to do stuff i enjoy . My job title is Navigation quay Ranger  :D  You should see the uniform  :-[  Anyway I start on the 30th of March .

Its not the prettiest location on the Broads but it does have a very strong tidal flow which will make things interesting  >:D

No more summers in 113c in the factory  :D

Heres a couple of shots of the more pretty side of the Broads

Yes things aren't great in the widow trade , I've gone from a 47 hr week to a 40 and more recently a 32 when we run out of work . This isn't funny when you struggle to bring home under £200 with a family and a multitool addiction .Plus I only get 20mins break in 8hrs and if theres no work they send us home after 6 hrs . Its just not worth the 60 miles a day for that .

If I didn't know better Mike I'd suggest you've been on the sauce :P

Nope, this is expanded 74mm prototype II.  Never gave it a proper name as I thought it would just be an intermediary kind of mod but I've had it in my pocket every day for over a year now :)

You is getting confused with the NKBSGSS or Stick Sorter for short.  I think you have played with both though.

That's a Wherry that is. There's only two left or something? Although a few have been turned into floating restaurants and such like. I've actually been aboard one of them and the mast is insane, bloody huge, yet they can still be dropped to get under the low bridges single handed.

Wonderful craft.

Dunc - I think I'm quite jealous.
I used to come here a lot.

Yeh it sure is a Wherry , Ive seen them but I've never been aboard one . I think thats about to change though  :D  They have a 1 tonne lead counter balance weight on the end of the mast so they can drop it quickly to go under all the bridges without loosing speed and time .In the old days thats how coal and other good were transported round norfolk . At one time there were loads of them .

The Albion - that's it!

That's the one I was on.

The thing that I found astonishing about the Wherrys was that they were had a crew of one. And often a dog apparently.
I used to come here a lot.
