I totally forgot about the double trouble two fer mini challenge for yesterday.  I could have had some fun digging out duplicates.  Last few years I'd always pick up two of anything that would be of interest and on sale for Christmas.  As I've got two daughters both of whom want some of my toys.
They will only have to decide if they want one used or in packages.  Happily, one wants what I've actually used, so problem solved.
They just have to wait till I kick off.

Which brings me to my doctor visit this morning.
All looking good.  Lost another 2 pounds.  BP was good to go and my O2 was good.   Don't have to see him again till January.

This is my normal EDC setup that I always seem to carry these days.  While I might rotate my stockman in and out, this keychain stays consistent.
Addicted to sharp pointy things.

Let's see here.... your papers say you are Mrs. Amanda Cypher... is that correct?
It seems you are having some difficulties with your husband?
That's right.  He has changed.  I don't even know who he is anymore.  He needs help.  (Muffled tears)
I'm sure we can do something.  Is he violent?  Does he hit you?
No, he never has hit me.
How about the children?
No, the children don't hit me either.
I meant... oh forget it.  Just what is the problem?
He's become an.... an.... (bawling)... an addict.
Well, that's treatable.  We can get him some help.  Don't cry, Mrs. Cypher.
It's not that.  He's addicted to pocket knives.  It started out slowly, then more and more.  I pretended to enjoy it with
him,  but it just got worse.  Our house is full of the things.  He has spent all our money... and... and (more bawling)
There, there, my dear.  Let me make a phone call.  Hello, Freddie.  Go to this address.  Pick up a couple of men and take along restraints.  He hasn't been violent so far, but who knows.....  Right.  Take him to Somber Acres Hospital, right away.

Problem...?  No.  It's an opportunity, to get more!

See, the secret is, to get her addicted as well.  So far so good!  :D
May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.

Ha Ha, I have 2 grandsons who I have share bond and interest in my sharps. It all started when they were about 3 and 4, and Knife Coffee table book I bought and shared. They would pick their favorites from the pages.

When I buy, I buy for me! Yet, in the back of my mind is who of them is best suited to this tool, get two!

Glad appointment was good!   Mine is next week, the last of the year, tests this week. Oncology.  MRI and Blood. Be nice if it is third all clear.  But will be patient one more week.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Day 23

Going simple today with a Pioneer X. I like the scale tools and I found putting them together with some shrink wrap fits nicely under the scissors and cap lifter. Held securely regardless of tool I am using. Problem solved.

There is quite a lot of wiggle room in the July 25 challenge as well.  Do you want to bet that different members take it to mean different things?  Looking forward to it.  Hope you are too.  Best wishes.  G

Most definitely, plenty of room for interpretation on the 25th Forrest Fire/Be Prepared Mini-challenge.

I plan to show one of the knives I cherished the most over the years, which was given by my late grandpa when I first joined Scout.  And a few emergency items I plan to take with me, for urban fire emergency. (probably different from forrest fire scenario, but also applicable).

DAY 23

My bushcraft carving kit. This kit pretty much does all the carving duties I need to a week of camp carving.

Grant reported on Facebook that MTo online site was moved to a brand new server on 7/23.
It did not progress smoothly and as a result the site did not function.
Eventually, through hard work and Micah persevered and the forum was the last piece of the site to be restored.

:hatsoff:  to Grant and Micah and any others.

Enjoy    :woohoo:

Yay! Back again. So:

Day 23.

A Bosch battery powered holemaker for concrete, stone, rocks and such. It works surprisingly well. Between this one and a portable air tank it is short work to make holes and clean them out in rocks or cliffs to install eyebolts. And while it punches well it still hasn't tried to break my wrist, twist my elbows or whack my knees. (Hilti anyone?) Maybe just because I haven't gotten it stuck yet, but well, not getting stuck that is a thing too.

Day 24   With MTo off-line a mild panic came over me last night and again this morning.

The bad, was  not knowing! Then found an explanation from Grant on Face Book!

The pacifier - Everyone world wide was also cut off from my favorite site.

The Good - there was no good, there was helplessness, withdrawal symptoms, etc etc.

My small sampling table, with EDC, challenge implements within reach.  Sharpener and strop and sheaths good to go.

Whew,      :woohoo:

And, I survived👍😎

Powernoodle Day 24

This Workpro 18 in 1 MT arrived yesterday from Amazon.  You know - because I don't own enough MTs.  I would characterize it as very good quality, and a little on the heavy side at 10 oz.  At U.S. $19.99 shipped, though, it is an excellent value even compared to the Rocktol and other Chinese Leatherman clones on the market.  The spring-loaded plier and belt clip are nice touches.  I like how the mini phillips driver (PH0) nests into the large phillips driver (PH3) during storage.

Day 24.

A pole hammer (for fencing) reused to crush rock with the help of a cute piece of rebar. (A leftover from who knows what). A more traditional sledge hammer adjust the sizes to fit...

Many years ago there was this cat sand discovery by some curious gold panners. They discovered that some big box chain sold cat sand which had significant amounts of gold in it. Hence said big box shop were suddenly selling cat sand by the pallet... Now, thinking about that I figured I should follow the spirit and metal detect the road filling we got up to the house. Not entirely random as I know the filling came from an old mine. And after trying like 6 rocks I got a hit. Likely copper, but still funny. So I imagined this conversation:

- "Hi, what are you doing with the excavator?"
"Just digging up the road dear."
- "What? Why? Never mind, stop that!"
"But there might be USD 2 of gold somewhere in it!"
- " :twak: :twak:"

  DAY 23

was not able to access the forum website yesterday and not sure why so i'm posting today. yesterday carried the silver farmer and took this shot on the beach last night using the weltool T8 TAC as a lighting source. for some reason it produced a double image of the farmer and reminded me of the painting "the creation of adam."
