Is the blade welded on?

Yea, it's a piece. Piece of what I'm not sure.  ::) ::)
Blade comes from a Simonds weld edge of some sort

Lots of fun old, new, etc posts.  I never knew that blue CASE knives were so popular.  Seems quite a few members have them.  I think we just had our first lawn mower on the MTO Anniversary Challenge.  I hope everybody had fun with the little diversion.  So far there have been packs, lights, knives, multis, SAKs, coolers (one anyway), pens, watches, and some EDC pocket dumps.  And a spear.  All good MTO fodder.
It will shortly be time for me (along with the rest of the crew) to follow powernoodle's leadership.  I hope we don't have to cook a possum or something.  Way too hot to start baking a critter indoors.  Best wishes.  Gary (IMR)

I think blue is their color this year. Feels like every other day I get an email from them or one of the knife sites about blue (or some fancy word for it) collections on sale or debuting.

Day 6

An early one this Supertool Saturday.

It’s quarter to five in the morning here and I’m on my eighth night shift.

I have to carry the radio, even though I’m on my own for at least three hours of my shift   :dunno:

Day 6: showing you another essential from my EDC pack. This handy little Swiss set of hex keys, sizes 1.5 - 5 mm. Need them constantly and people are often surprised that I carry such a thing, but are glad that I have them. They weigh only 54g (1.9 oz).

They also have another trick up their sleeve that I'll share with you tomorrow  ;)

Day 5

Since it's no SAKs allowed in the Dean51 challenge, I thought I'd show off some of my Vic scouts today:

Something old: Like a lot of you, the oldest knife I have (at least that I can date beyond "yep, it's old!") is this 1943 Soldier. Relatively spry compared to some of the others we've seen.

Something new: This new to me (probably early 80s) Pioneer is a joy to carry after a quick clean up and sharpen. Love those brass liners. Kind of surprised the red alox isn't more available, since it's their trademark color.

Something borrowed: My wife's BYSAK. Which I replaced with...

Something blue: This Farmer X. She likes carrying the Alox, but she likes blue and having scissors, and this is easier to replace if something happens to it. This one is probably more borrowed than the Soldier, since it rides with her in the car most days and gets used more.

Day 6
I watched a small, black furred insect inspector yesterday.  It knew all the good places to look for the pesky ground nesting wasps (yellow jackets).  The skunk sees them as a tasty meal.  Digs them out.  Eats grubs, paper nest, and anything else that gets in the way.  These things are a menace to yard work.  The yellow jackets, not the skunks.
Might need a photo.  Best wishes.  G

DAY 6  My second oldest MT: the Paratool.  It had a couple of tools the PST didn't, and it seemed more comfortable to use.  It's a very early "patent pending" model.  I found a shop that had the optional wood saw blade and added that.  The Blackie Collins sheath broke, and I wore out the nylon version, but the Paratool soldiers on.

Nice photo of the 'fencing'.  How did you ever get picked to judge a fencing competition?  Stand out in the sun for half a day.  You lucky dog.  I hope there was a barbecue contest or maybe a pie making event going on at the same time.  Best wishes.  G

Day 6

I have a travel emergency kit that I throw in my suitcase when I go anywhere.  It contains lots of items that have come in handy while I am away from home - tools, a sewing kit, a small first aid kit, an ultra-thin power bank and charge cables, and even some cash.  I store it all in a Maxpedition Fatty.  Here are the items that would be interesting to this forum:

Leatherman Rebar
Victorinox Compact
iFixit Jimmy
Waiter's Corkscrew
Tweezers
Prybar (Widgy from CountyComm)
Nite Ize DoohicKey
Flashlight (RovyVon A3)

Went somewhere outdoorsy with the Little guy today, and he asked me to cut off the tag from his t-shirt with my OH plain edge Trekker.  Still my favorite outdoor knife by far, and it was sad to see it being discontinued by Vic couple years back.

a little change of pace

Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

Day 6

Here are two within stretch reach…
[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

CASE  does a variety of blues in a variety of shades and tints. The blue dyed bone seems to be a niche for CASE

The Stockman is new this year, but was selected to be my EDC just for the mediterranean Blue covers.

Amber Bone is another, Yellow Delrin, Workman Red, Navy Jig, Kentucky Blue, ….

Oh!  Yes Caribbean Blue Sawcut, is darn nice too!!!

If you’ve an itch, gotta scratch it🤪
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

DAY 5
I was a bit slack yesterday, having been called back to work (late afternoon) and I fell asleep before posting

I took Mrs Surge to the Hampton Court Flower Show (we go every year  :pok:) before going back to work though.

As it's a public event (in the UK) I had to opt for UK legal so it was the SOG Keytron UK (no uses  ::))

However, Mrs Surge managed to knock back several pints of Pimms (£14 a go) and bought MANY plants  :ahhh

It was a nice day (despite the rain) until the work thing  >:(
They don't like it up 'em!

A slightly later start today after being called back to work yesterday.

No real uses at work for anything but I did look at my watch serveral times (and then cry a bit)

However, this pic' was taken at home just before kick off for the England v Switzerland match  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh
