I almost forgot to share, have these two magnets on my range hood.

IIRC, designed and produced by Comis, then distributed by Nix.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Lots of fun old, new, etc posts.  I never knew that blue CASE knives were so popular.  Seems quite a few members have them.  I think we just had our first lawn mower on the MTO Anniversary Challenge.  I hope everybody had fun with the little diversion.  So far there have been packs, lights, knives, multis, SAKs, coolers (one anyway), pens, watches, and some EDC pocket dumps.  And a spear.  All good MTO fodder.
It will shortly be time for me (along with the rest of the crew) to follow powernoodle's leadership.  I hope we don't have to cook a possum or something.  Way too hot to start baking a critter indoors.  Best wishes.  Gary (IMR)

The very first CASE SeaHorse Whittler that I bought came from a Lowes Store in Waynesville, NC was blue.

Day 6
Following SurgeUK's example and showing off my edc Citizen

Also looks like some of us are going to have a wet week, looks like Monday is landfall, best wishes to my fellow Texas members.

Day six

Here's my Case Russlock given to me by my boss in 2020 Christmas. It came in a sheath but no box . I'm pretty colorblind so who know what color it is. Looks purpleish maybe?

Day 6. I'm already starting to loose count..  :ahhh

I thought I'd show off a useful photographic tool. It is a color checker, and basically what it does is provide a known color reference so that photos later taken under the same light can be color corrected properly. It often makes a big difference for peoples skin and the like. The weird thing is that you often don't notice all that much until you see them side by side - then the color corrected one often looks way more natural.

Anyway, first photo is with the color checker included. Second is some items with colors we all know (and red is often difficult for digital camera sensors) and some other stuff. And third is the same one color corrected. Monitors and screens will show this differently but on a color proofed monitor the last one has pretty exact natural colors. (Although a bit on the cold side).

Cool color checker, it reminds me of the ink color guides we used at my family's print shop when I was a kid.
We had one set that was kept in a case so the light wouldn't fade them, and an old worn set that the pressman used for mixing inks.

How light affects color is always interesting.
One of the funniest fails i've seen was a coleman camo booney hat that would turn purple under certain light (no black light bulb needed)

Again, some delay in getting to a PC, and in this case I'm trying the catchup via mobile...

Day 5

Something Old: A Wostenholm I.XL of some kind. Actually a Farmer's knife, rather than the more typical Stockman. No idea of exact age, but it's previous owner was well into his 90s.
Something New: Needed to EDC a pencil, so bought myself this 2mm mechanical one.
Something Borrowed: This is my wife's entire multitool collection - LM Sidekick, a Rolson crappy-thing, and a pre-1991 Vic Mountaineer (because as a SAKnight I have to feature a SAK wherever possible).
Something Blue: I rotate my patches, and I've been wearing these Expanse inspired ones recently.

Day 6

I've been a bit of a naughty boy and have carried my Workchamp. This is just de-stoning fruit while prepping the girls' lunch today.

Good choice! I'm becoming much more appreciative of the 111s.

More great stuff for today, y'awl! :2tu:

Day 6

Another day of the same theme from me...

Something old (but very new to me): A Wenger Highlander. From AzteCypher.

Something new: The Lumintop Nano Frog. From Sos24.

Something borrowed: that's actually the book (it came from a local library). I was hoping it would have a section on compass navigation, so I could make better use of the Silva Expedition (from Tasky).

Something blue: the Camper again. Its scales and lanyard are from SurgeUK.

USN 2000-2006

Culling of the knife and multi herds in progress...

If I pay five figures for something, it better have wings or a foundation!

Day 6

This is something I EDC every time I leave the house but I'm not sure if I've shared it.  It's my Leatherman Tread bracelet.  It is a bit gimmicky but, I have used it several times to assemble/disassemble equipment when I was in a pinch.  I can even use 1/4" sockets with it and a open a cold one at the end of the day with it.

May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.

Day 7: showing you a cool extension for the hex key set: the PB 470 M. That's an adapter for the 5mm hex key to take standard 1/4" bits. I take it with me together with the PB Swiss bit kit when I want to go light and not carry the PB Swiss Insider bit screwdriver. Saves about 20 grams and even carries 2 more bits.

Day 7. Early in the day, but busy day, so here I go:

Some multitools have electrical tools. These are my fullsize alternatives for stripping and crimping.

1. Stripping pliers. I got quite a few different ones. Some flat out doesn't work or leave plastic hanging on, or they cut away some metal strands while they are at it. Or they only work with certain kind of materials and wires. These ones are the most universal working ones I got. Some variants that is regulated to a particular size also work well - but then you need to adjust the size.

2. Square crimping tool. This plier will crimp leaving a square shape with some rather distinct notches along the length.

3. Hex crimping tool. This plier crimps leaving a hexaogonal shape. The nothes are less aggresive than the plier above.

4. Close-up of the two after crimping. I had to cut the length as they were too long so the ends are deformed. Still, hex to the left, square to the right. Hex is better where the receptor expects a round shape, while square is better where the receptor locks on with a straight shape or edge. (If you have hundreds of cables connected on a machine that vibrates and shakes then minimizing the risk of anything coming loose becomes surprisingly important).

Day 7

I recently got a new Milwaukee utility knife, and now can understand why people like it.  It may not be the lightest utility knife out there, but it certain is robust and very convenient to use.

I am still waiting for a chance to get their buffet style MT, which one could choose what to install on the chassis.  Kudos to GOAT for starting this whole trend, and I am hoping their new tool can take it next level up.
