When you cook it up, don't eat the baculum.  I can't say here what it is because MTO is family friendly, but you can figure it out.

Today is something blue.
:like:

Today it is a mini grinder.  I bought the little thing at a flea market for $3.
The attachments alone would cost you much more at retail. Well-bought! :tu:

Two tour No. 8s and a Olive Wood No.8
:2tu:

We are supposed to be getting new versions which, I suspect, won't be new but just less old
Sounds about right when you're dealing with the government.

More great stuff, y'awl...and I'm thinking of replacing the NATO band on my Timex with Tread bits (if I can find them anymore)!

Day 7

Today I decided to see what sort of battery powers my F-91W clone. Enter the General 744 4-In-1 mini.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Much to my surprise, it was a CR2016, and I was able to get the watch back together without much difficulty.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

The 744 was pulled out of the surprise box. If you're in the States, go here to get in on the fun!

@Gary - you would provide a greater service to allow the opossum to roam free and due what it does. Eating bugs and ticks, rats, snakes, road kill etc.

A good fat Woodchuck aka Groundhog, will fatten up nicely and quicker.  Also, they have more flavor than a raccoon and any rodents.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Day 7

Bought this pocket-ulu on a trip to Alaska last month. Was it made in Alaska? Probably not. Did I overpay? Maybe. Is it a neat souvenir and a nice little knife? Yep.

Hi Looper,
You know I would just knock over a nice rabbit, but I got these strange possum vibes from powernoodle.  Figured I had better cover that possumbility.... er, possibility.  Just in case.  Best wishes.  G

I was taught that you do not disturb, crows, vultures or opossums  around your farm or home. That they do more good than harm.
They’re immune to snake venom, rattle snakes  and will kill them.

Also recently learned they have a low body temp and are incapable of spreading rabies and yet only have a life span of only 3 years at most.  Mostly 2 yrs.

They are ugly, but that is most likely to get others animals, humans to leave them alone.

Definitely a misunderstood creature.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Maybe powernoodle will only require everyone to make a nice big pot of chili.  Might not even specify any sort of meal at all?  Could just ask everyone to show an old Wenger with one handle missing?  I have that one covered.  I actually carried one of those today.  No photos.  Darn.  Best wishes.  G

I had to pause for a minute before I scrolled past this wondering what I would see.  Then I remembered this is a family friendly site.

Day 7

I'm working on cleaning up this Imperial Scout (insert Star Wars giggle here) and giving it a working edge.  It looks like the previous owner tried sharpening it with a dull spoon.

Day 8

Ganzo G302-B. Remember these? :D
They were everywhere back in the day. Good build quality, but a few issues here and there. Weight, handle splay, short tools. Tools like this illustrate why it is worth it to pay a little more and get a Rebar or something.

I am so ready for the next challenge.  I have a pretty nice eating size possum in a cage.  Been feeding it scraps and getting it fattened up.  Mmmm.  Yummers.  Best wishes.  G

Better to feed it bread, to clean it out.

I drove over 300 miles to a knife show to get my first mini ulu knife.  Of the 3 variations, I like the liner lock the best.

Yes, I had totally forgotten. I got one of those somewhere. I haven't seen anything Ganzo in quite some while. Wonder what happened to that brand. Maybe under some other brand today?

I was very excited to see the Roxon Flex being announced. There are a few early reviews that are positive, so I will be getting it when it finally becomes available.
RP, that's the one!  I will look forward to your review, this does look promising. :tu:

Day 6:
Spent the day involved with all aspects of my wife's grandpa's  90th birthday party. Got home and crashed on the couch. Carried my CRK Umnumzaan (Image removed from quote.)
The oring on my Umnumzaan was deteriorating, and I probably should chance it when I get around to it.  I see you have swapped it to a blue, how's that going?  What's the right dimension for the oring replacement?

Day 8.

The GRIPsher. A Kickstarter campaign that actually delivered something.

The design is on the gimmicky side for me, but I do find interesting to see others take on multitools. The build quality is fine. Supporting it on Kickstarter seemed like the right thing back then. Sometimes the first generation might not get it all right, but without a first generation there will not be a second and so on. It seemed evolution stopped after this one though - unless others have heard more?

I had my eye on a few "borrowed" designs Ganzo had, and then they were nowhere to be found. I'd say they got sued or maybe they decided to stop making copies.

DAY 8

Some grail blades....top to bottom

Alan Wood Bushcrafter

Mark Hill Woodlore

Spyderco Gayle Bradley 2 (I really wanted the Gayle Bradley 1 - but like hens teeth)

Spyderco Wolfspyder (Ray Mears designed knife)

And for the controversial blade, a survive knives gso 2.7 in cpm20v

And here it is again with some comparisons....BR Bushcrafter lite and the Izua 2

If I had to choose between the three above blades, I would choose the bark river...
