I love the SwissBucks
Me, too!

It's fun to get a half dozen guys together and taste whatever everyone's brought...
You just have to hope that one of them didn't bring Military Special rum.

Used the awl on the FX to open a package.
I know Knife Center sells a red Farmer X with their logo on the engraving panel. Is that the version you have?

It's always good to carry a handkerchief.
:iagree: with that sentiment, though I prefer a bandana.

RescueTool, always with me under the driver's seat in the little drawer...
:like:

More great stuff for today, y'awl! :2tu:

Day 13

Thought I'd show a one-piece tool with one of the more "cute" designs. It's a Keysmart Alltul Dino. It was a surprise box pull. And yes, we have a Kit Kat discussion.

Yeah, Gerber scissors are not that great :(

Oh, wow!  :like:  That's much better looking than the official photos on Buck's website.  I love the Saunter, but I passed on the July BotM because I didn't like the handles.  I kind of hope they're sold out now because I am very tempted to buy one.

Not my intention    (maybe not really) 😉
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

day 13

last year we had a massive shift in mentality in my local team so oddly enough this is used quite a bit

Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

I don't know what I would do if our youngest daughter did that with her three kids. My wife and I play a big role in raising them. They are a handful to deal with, but I miss them sorely if I don't see them for a few days.

Hoping for the best for you and your granddaughters, PC.

Thanks Adam.
We had kept the oldest for weeks at a time.  The youngest less frequently.
My wife retired back in December to be able to spend more time with them too.  It's hard for us right now.

That wrench is an interesting tool. Has anybody used it?

I've only used it for small nuts. Wrenches have to be long enough to provide torque (ie length approx that of spanners for each size as their length is made accordingly). One thing is too loosen something, if it works it works, but to tighten something I'd like to know it is properly tightened so it doesn't rattle off again.

It is also connected to a thick SAK. That makes it difficult to use if the nut or bolt in question is surrounded by a flat surface as the tool can't get all the way down and parallel to the surface.

"Simple is hard"
"Hard is hard too"
(Partial disclosure: I design tools for a living).

Some outdoor cooking gear. Canteen cup, Lodge skillet (and camping dutch oven hidden at the bottom) a kettle and percolator. Taught a little campfire cooking class at camp today and made crumbles, cobblers, and drinks.

Mini Challenge 3 - Day 15

For the 3rd mini challenge, I’m going to make it simple (hopefully) - something that has sentimental value

This could be a knife or SAK or not even a tool at all. It can be multiple items or just one item.  Maybe it was a gift or maybe it was just something that you had with you during a significant event.  It doesn’t have to be anything big, maybe the only value is the value you place on it.

You can share what makes it sentimental or just post a picture, up to you.
