Day 20

Wile E. was used today to remove the short, folding legs of one work table; it then whittled some pegs to fit into the other worktable top, cut them to size after marking, marked pilot holes with the awl to be drilled as well as on the tabletop, and screwed on said pegs. Now, I can have a comfortable-height worktable with plenty of surface area.

One BIG caveat- although marketed for outdoors/survival (and having Leatherman's most robust 4" blade), it was a REAL PITA to whittle with it: uncomfortable to hold with my (medium-large hands); having the plain edge so far, from the handle made it hard to do controlled shaves and cuts; not my "cup-of-tea" for prolonged whittling/carving.

@Juan el Boricua: sapphire is a favorite of mine! And good to know that the little ratcheting bit driver can be fitted to the Signal.

@Sos24: great use of the carabiner! And the "Midwest Obsessed" trail mix is actually quite good.

@JonesE: is that a mini rug of some sort? It sure looks cool!

@Cypren: makes sense about the button-cell batteries. And it seems whomever put the studs up in your house didn't have much sense.

@m47mu74nt: that looks like a handheld "games machine;" am I correct?

Another great day, y'awl! :2tu:

Day 20

More bottle opening, but this time it's an adult beverage.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

This is a Scotch-style ale from Founders Brewing. It's pretty good, and fairly strong at 8.5% ABV. However, it's far from being the strongest beer I've ever had.

I'm not posting the name or including a photo of the bottle, as a Smurf would show up. :D

Is the can opener a better bottle opener than the carabiner?

Farmer, sorry to say but, that Saphire will become the recipient of the Cobalt Blue scales shown earlier; they're that bad. Also, although the ratcheting extender do work, what you see is a DIY mod on a regular Ryobi bit extender, done many moons ago!

Nice project.  I think most MT tools and blades get uncomfortable with a lot of use at one time, because of the tools on outside, but at least they work.

@Farmer X, It’s a coaster that is patterned after a Navajo rug the wife and I picked up at Petroglyphs National Monument New Mexico a few years back.

Yes.  I take it you too are a Mystery  Ranch Fan?  But[instead of the new release, I decided to see if I could get a someone to part with the Unicorn 2.0, and I did; still with tags.

I am a big fan. I actually returned my Unicorn 2.0 because it was a bit to small. My daily is the Special Blend Midnight Blue Summit 26. I bought the Dragon 2.0 in black but I havent taken it out of the box yet, I plan to but have been busy lately.

Got the plywood supports installed today and the first of many Wall Control panels aligned and leveled. The remainder should go much faster now since I can reference off the first one.

I don't normally carry Vic, but I decided to try out a Cybertool M for work.  It's much thicker and blockier than I imagined, but I'll still give it a try later.  Here it is next to my Signal, which, of course, opened the package it came in  :tu:

The ASAP SB in blue is my main carry backpack, so the size of the Unicorn 2.0 should be perfect.

I was also shocked by the thickness of the Cybertool.

@BPRoberts: we shall find out. See below.

@Sos24: it's been a while since I've had a Corona!

@JonesE: your latest photos are fantastic!

@Rich_SD: I was wondering what you got. The Cybertool should serve you well in your line of work!

@Cypren: glad to see you're getting organizedand settled in!

@m47mu74nt: that red sure does look sharp!

@Juan el Boricua: I like the black, too!

@Poncho65: :hatsoff:

More awesome stuff, y'awl! :2tu:

Day 21 (running late)

Decided to see how the carabiner works as a cap lifter.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

It got the job done, but I prefer the claw-type tool. Note that the Signal is artfully hiding the name of the beer. :D

And yes, I have no qualms about drinking beer straight out of the bottle.

Great pics and uses gents! Happy to see you’re enjoying your Signals - I sold mine years ago because it didn’t feel right since day 1 - more than that - I got a warranty replacement for my first Signal because of the lock on the saw won’t work at all.
And actually the same issue was present even on the replacement, so had to fix it myself. Also I totally hated a thick combo blade and had no clue how to sharpen it really.

But it’s a beautiful tool nevertheless - always makes me dream of some traveling and adventures - things I have long been missing first because of COVID and then because of war here in Ukraine. But I’m sure someday it’ll all be fine again 🙌🏻
Dream. Wish. Leave nothing undone. Repeat.

Is it a monitor mount?

Yeah, dual monitor stand. Right now I just have a single monitor set up on its pack-in stand, which is a piece of crap: every time I start typing, the whole thing wobbles around. That dual stand is thick steel and holds the screens steady as a rock; I didn't have time to set it up last night, but it's definitely going up today.
