I'm hooked on alox SAK's! They are so solid and I think they look and feel great.  I have no idea why they aren't more popular?

more popular?

What?

Have you been living under a rock....

in a cave...

at the bottom of the ocean...

on pluto.

If I had a few spare Alox knives I'd through them up in the air to watch mt.o members try to catch it and crash into each other like seagulls after chips.

I would agree that in general alox SAK's aren't that popular. Here on MTO, now that's a different story.  :D

The special thing is the scales are solid Al and much more scratch resistant than the plastic ones.

If you don't mind losing the toothpick and tweezers then the Alox Classic is the smallest SAK I have ever seen :o  Very lightweight but great to carry :tu:

I love Alox SAKs they look better and feel more solid to me as well

I just need to get a Farmer of a different color like blue or red  :D

As most of you will have worked out by now I'm a bit of a SAK fan  :D.  I have to confess however that (other than the Cadet) I'm not a Alox fan.  The lack of back mounted tools is the major factor, but also the limited range of the other tools bugs me.

I don't mean to rain on you parade, I get what people like about them, I know they are very good looking.  I just haven't been able to muster the same level of enthusiasm for them myself.  :-\

I can see where you are coming from, but the solid feel and the heft of the ALOX wins me over every time.  :tu:

So after writing the above I thought I might be being a bit unfair.  With that in mind I've put a nice new edge on my Pioneer and am going to EDC it for a while and see if it works out.

The special thing is the scales are solid Al and much more scratch resistant than the plastic ones.
I don't think scratch resistant is the best phrase to use.

If you have a coloured Alox SAK and carry it regularly, the colour on the "bumps" will wear off, giving a silver and "whatever" colour SAK.
I've been carrying a Blue Alox Classic SD since Christmas and it's now becoming a Blue and Silver Alox Classic SD.
At first I was ticked off about it, but now I kind of like the look.

Obviously my Alox soldier will stay one colour, but the Red Alox Cadet that I will be getting will become multicoloured at some point, unless I don't use it.

A worn black Alox would look really cool.  Looks like they are not offered anymore.
