What’s the best color lens for flashing lights?
on: July 12, 2024, 04:54:30 PM
I’m just going to throw this out there and see if anyone knows,, both the Mrs and I have seizures and when watching tv we have to look away or close our eyes when it gets too bright or flashes, so I looked into what’s good to prevent it? So they say both a blue or what they call a rose color is good especially for people with epilepsy, but then I also thought of those eagle eye or night vision glasses so I’m just lost on trying to figure out what would be best? Just a simple non Rx to help against flashing while watching tv, heck even a safety glasses, I thought I had a pair of the yellow but I couldn’t find them, any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, ty..

Wear special glasses
You can try wearing glasses with polarized or blue-tinted lenses, or glasses designed specifically for photosensitive epilepsy.

Someone should make some software for TVs that would dampen, slow or remove issues like too bright or flashes. A kind of seizure censored image. Normal image -> filter -> shown image with those issues removed or remedied.

How hard can it be? (This is usually what I say before falling into bottomless rabbit holes...)
"Simple is hard"
"Hard is hard too"
(Partial disclosure: I design tools for a living).

Thanks, I read somewhere that the blue really is like the “pro” color to help against the epilepsy, which in our books is great (heck I’ve been put under testing and with the right color combo of light and right speed of flashing it can automatically bring on a seizure) but it’s the flashes that simply hurts, if I go outside I need sunglasses cause my eyes are so sensitive, heck we even have lights behind the tv which really helps, but I’m getting tired of covering my face or turning my head every time it starts flashing, heck the necks starting to hurt! lol,,

Well, I found something online and wow, these things are great! Everything is so crisp, they even give you a special light so you can see the diff, and I must say oh yeah, from what was a painful color it turns it to something so simple and it doesn’t hurt, I so can’t wait till tonight to see if they work for the tv! All those sharp bright flashing tv actions that both the Mrs and I have to cover our eyes till it’s over, maybe now I can watch the whole thing?
