March 2025 Hiker challenge!

The Hiker is an often overlooked SAK. It's time to give it its place in the sun (well, what little sun we in the Northern Hemisphere may see in March). In addition to having a Hiker as your primary carry for the month of March, the usual challenge rules apply. Who else is ready to help the Hiker step into the limelight?

If I pay five figures for something, it better have wings or a foundation!
Merit Badges Participants shall carry and use one Soldier knife, the model of their choosing, for the duration of the 90 days and post a picture each day. Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of a Farmer X SAK for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of a Delemont SAK for thirty (30) consecutive days. Must put something in order and provide link to the post. Participate in a Challenge thread, carry at least one black edc item, and post a photo every day for 30 consecutive days.  Carry tools with single functions only. No multi-tools, no multi-layer Swiss Army Knives, no combo one-piece tools and post a photo for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread or Post in a Challenge Thread and post a photo of a Spartan  for 30 days Start a new thread with photos of at least 6 SAKs of different frame lengths and/or shapes in your collection. Eg 58mm, 74mm, 84mm regular, 84mm slim, 85mm etc Participate in a Challenge thread and post a photo of a SAK-alike, aka multi-layered, knife-based pocket tools for thirty (30) consecutive days. Find him! Participate in a Challenge thread, carry knife/tool with a blade 4" or longer, and post a photo every day for 30 consecutive days. Participate in a Challenge thread, carry at least one green edc item, and post a photo every day for 30 consecutive days. Participate in a Challenge thread, carry a Victorinox Hiker, and post a photo every day for 30 consecutive days. Must start a thread with a photo of at least five (5) of your watches Build your own version of an MRE using off-the-shelf components, post a photo of the completed MRE and store at room temperature for 6 days or more. Consume the MRE after the storage period and post pictures and descriptions of the contents. Take part in the christmas pool or a rak type giveaway. Those wanting to say thank you for a rak may also nominate for the santa. Participate in a Challenge and post a photo of a Utility Knife for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate  in a Challenge thread and post a photo of a LM Pocket Survival Tool for thirty (30) consecutive days. I'll hop in. The Hiker was my first full size SAK when I joined the Scouts. It's still kicking around, not too much worse for wear after years of abuse.

Test,please ignore Participate in a Challenge thread and post a photo of  a Case knife  for 30 days Must start a thread with a photo of your birth year SAK Participate and post a pic of your vintage SAK (1986 or earlier) everyday for 30 days. Using EDC items randomly selected with a poker hand, post a photo of your EDC or a component of the EDC that got used during the course of the day for 4 weeks (or 30 consecutive days) Start a new thread and post a picture of fire making kit or fire with a multitool Start a new thread and post a photo of an Executive or Director for thirty (30) consecutive days. Boy, March 2025 feels kind of far away at the moment. I may need a few practice runs with the Hiker before the time comes...

Hey folks,

I know that March, 2025 feels far away right now. You haven't even passed out candy to children wearing their super hero pajamas in public yet! Then there's American Thanksgiving (we encourage others to participate, so here's a hint - eat until it hurts...), then we have Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Winter Solstice season.... and don't forget New Year's Eve! We have to celebrate the fact that the Earth managed to dodge all the big asteroids again!

But March, 2025 will be here before you know it! And long term planning is important - you know, things like saving for retirement, life insurance, and participating in the March 2025 Hiker Challenge.

That's right folks, we NEED YOU to help us celebrate the hidden gem of the 91mm SAK world!

Do you even own a Hiker yet? Well, I can assure you that there is at least one nationally recognized gift giving occasion in your location between now and March, 2025. I'll participate in this one. I'm actually unsure if I even OWN a hiker currently, I had one roaming around, but I may have given it away.  :think:

I'm usually on team corkscrew, so philips backtools only show up magically from ebay on occasion.  :rofl: (Although a wenger highlander was my one and only knife for years). But I'll see if I can't pick one up before march rolls around.
