Day 19

Nothing to report today, but I thought this picture would be appropriate given the MacGyver-related threads we have going on in the forum lately.

[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]

I got the set for Christmas, 2023 and watched every episode over the course of 2024. I enjoyed when I was a kid and found it just as wholesome and satisfying now.

To be perfectly honest, I found myself getting a little sad as I got towards the end of the series and the final episode, which I had actually never seen before.

Hope everyone is doing alright in the Forgotten Order of the Hiker!

Great pic though! :like:

DAY 24 I put together a metal raised garden bed.  Red opened the box, and nine nags of dirt.

Another great day, y'awl...we're at the 80% mark!

Day 24

I discovered a loose drawer pull on this disused dresser.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Said drawer pull didn't put up a fight against the Hiker's Phillips screwdriver.

A quiet, yet great, day. Glad to hear the toy was fixed!

Day 25

I figured it was finally time to remove the batteries from the car's remote-control fobs.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Both screwdriver tips worked equally well for this task. I didn't expect that. And the batteries didn't puke battery acid all over the terminals.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

We shall see if the vintage electronic item I recently purchased awlso escaped the horror of battery acid leakage. Fingers crossed.

Spiffy scales, a sweet watch and Pumpkin...what a great day! :2tu: And my dinner tonight was ramen and crackers. I've gotten quite lazy where cooking is concerned.

Day 26

This wall-mounted hook was disused and annoying me. Though I've not previously had good luck using the can opener on Phillips screws, I gave it another go. It worked.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

There was an action shot, but of course the camera smurfed it off. And I'm reminded of yet another reason I dislike old houses: hardware for such things is invariably designed for drywall, not plaster.

Day 26

I used the back Phillips to tighten up the control panel on a standing desk at work. Due to how the unit was constructed, the screw was recessed enough that the can opener tip wouldn’t work.
