The Hiker is a great platform. The only downside I've had with the backside Philips is what you ran into BP.

Day 1

Tried to use the backside driver to help with some screws on a prop at the high school show, but couldn't get a good angle. Still glad to be back on the SAK train.

Yep, I find that the back Phillips is best used on screws that just need a little tightening/loosening and, even then, it depends on how much room you have.

Definitely not ideal for running a screw all the way in from the beginning though.

Marlowe, is that sunshine I see?  :o

Yes sir! A rare treat in the PNW this time of year. We are enjoying it while it lasts.

Time got away from me with my cross country move. Unfortunately I am not going to be able to participate in this challenge. I will, however, follow along and cheer you on.

DAY 2 I think I only have two Hikers, and they're easy to tell apart.

@Barry Rowland: :cheers: and very spiffy Hiker you have there!

@Echotech: I'll be getting to a trimming job or two as it warms up.

@BPRoberts: I'll turn a few Phillips screws soon, too.

@MrToolJunkie: I'm planning a long move myself. Where did you move from/to?

@Fireman: That yellow... :drool:

@Marlowe221: I haven't removed parts from a sprue in a long while. I use a side cutters for that purpose. My left thumb still shows a scar caused by removing parts from a sprue with a smurfty blade.

Another great day, y'awl! :2tu:

Day 2

No Hiker use today, but it was present for packout of the Gas Station MRE challenge components. Here it's giving a :td: to pull-tab cans.

March 30 Day Hiker Challenge
Day 2 of 30

Didn't have any use for the Hiker today. But I carried it with me to the flea market today, where I picked up a "like new" Leatherman Kick.

Aww, I didn't realize we were doing GSMREs again, that was a fun one. I awlready have the badge, so maybe I'll cheat and make one up even if I don't quite make the week.

Day 2

Tightening a loose knob on the bathroom cabinet. I haven't carried a backside phillips SAK in forever, we'll see how I feel about it after the challenge.

Day 2:
Went to breakfast with my wife's grandpa and then made the 100 mile round trip with my youngest to do a grocery pick up so she could take her nap in the car. Didn't so much else except sit in the sun and watch the kids and puppy play in the yard so not much for use other than cleaning my nails with the small blade of my 2022 Bow & Oake Sassafras Hiker

DAY 3  Red being used as scale for my first group of the day.  The scope needed adjusted, but that is three rounds of .41 magnum at 50 yards.

@GA1dad: nice score! :tu:

@BRRoberts: the back layer Phillips definitely has its limitations, but being able to T-handle grip could be advantageous.

@Echotech: :like:

@MTSAK:  :drool:

@Barry Rowland: astronaut drink?

@Fireman: I've never fired a .41 Magnum, but I do like a .357.

Another great day, y'awl! :2tu:

Day 3

Paracord is a challenge staple for me. The Hiker's large blade lopped off the knotted end with no issues whatsoever.

    A pretty red Hiker.  G-Shock.  Back home with a family.  Sounds perfect to me.  I have been reading some of the posts.  When I get caught up a little, I plan on going through all the entries.  Best wishes.  Gary

Day 4

Tried to loosen a screw in the door but to be fair to the hiker it wasn’t really the right sized tool and it was heavily painted in
