Welcome to the inaugural post for Serrated Saturday. Or, is it Serraturday? 

Saturday is the best day for serrated blades. This thread is for all blades serrated, either fully or partial. Get out your serrated SAKs or your combo blades and let us know why you love them. 

I’ll begin with my first multitool and first quality fully serrated blade, my Leatherman Wave.  I initially thought a serrated blade wouldn’t really be used.  I was wrong.  I ended up preferring it.

This blade has made short work of cardboard, rope, mesh fencing, cutting vines, among many other things.  Great for cutting bread, watermelon, and steaks.

It is still wicked sharp.  I haven’t touched it up and haven’t felt the need to.

    I looked for your first post yesterday but must have gone to bed early.  I use a serrated blade in the kitchen regularly, but don't remember using this EZ Out for anything?  Best wishes.  Gary

   In keeping with my promise to support the Serrated Saturday thread, I will submit a semi-serrated Leatherman.  Thunder and dark clouds for an hour or more yesterday.  Rain?  Well no. 
    I watched a dehydrated looking frog drag itself up on my walkway and look overhead with a hopeful amphibian expression.  One drop of water plopped on its head and to my surprise killed it graveyard dead.  I threw the sad old thing out of the yard.  I felt bad about pouring the little drip of water on the poor critter.  Live and learn.  Best wishes.  G

Happy Serrated Saturday awl,

This week doubles on Swisstool Saturday with my butter blade Spirit.

This particular serrated blade is quite versatile.  The very tip works like the chisel edge as a package opening or scoring softer materials.  The heel has a plain edge section, which is wonderful for feathering and similar cuts.  The serrated portion is both literal butter knife and wicked sharp steak knife.  Our last camping trip I used this blade for cutting bread, spreading butter, cutting steaks, cutting watermelon, feathering kindling, cutting rope, and probably some more I’m forgetting.

It’s also a great pruning blade.  I use several multi tools outside and use the serrated blade for small branches and vines.  The smaller serrations on this blade work really great for trimming such things.

1960s Aqualung US Dive knife, I got this one somewhere in the mid 90s
You can't really make it out but there is a 6in ruler etched in the blade.
One thing that seems to always be missing from these that mine still has is that rubber retention loop that stretches over the pommel.
I used to be a lot of things, and someday will again.
But for now I'm just a lost jack of trades with neither mastery nor home. ~NoaIsumi

  Nice one, Surge.  I think everyone has seen all of the serrated blade knives that I have.  Except for some kitchen knives.  I might have to fetch out one of those next time.  I thought about replacing the serrated blade from my Wingman with a straight edge.  I actually have a straight edge that will fit.  Might be better.  Might not be an improvement.  I haven't decided.  Best wishes.  G

If you think you’d carry a Spartan, I recommend the serrated Spartan. A serrated Bantam would be great in my opinion.

Very rarely do I need a serrated blade. The few I have ought to last me a lifetime (unless required for work). I'll show a favorite on Saturday.

We don't get anything "issued" as such (apart from a Hi-Vis, Polo Shirt and Bump Cap) We awl buy our own kit.

I love a combo blade. I use my O/G Surge one every day at work  :tu:

   I looked for a waffle edged bread knife with a white plastic handle but couldn't find it.  I turned up a sharply serrated one instead.  I don't remember where this one came from.  It has a nice walnut handle and is actually fitted well.  Japanese.  The serrations are sharp as thorns.  I might have used this to cut bread with.  I don't remember.  I am going to look for the white handled one sometime or other.  Best wishes.  G

  I don't remember using a serrated knife blade on tree branches before.  Looks like it should work.  A friend had a two bladed green handled Schrade jack knife with one serrated blade on it.  I bought it from him.  It had some blood on it.  He said he tried to cut some weed wacker line with it.  The serrated blade just slid up the line until it stopped at his thumb.  Schrade seems to anger people on here for some reason.  I got along pretty well with them except for the ones with wobbly blades.  I always hated blades that wiggled.  Best wishes.  G

I think a lot of the disdain for Schrade comes from Taylor Brands purchasing the name and shifting production to China. By all accounts I've read, quality declined severely. All the USA-made Schrades I've owned were great.
