@Grand_Banana: I pit cherries with my teeth  :D I've never  used fresh cherries in a recipe.

@MrToolJunkie: looks a bit like a junction box, but I'm pretty sure it isn't. What is it?

@G-Dizzle: you're getting into the holiday spirit, eh? My days of decorating for Christmas (or any holiday) are over...

@AzteCypher: is that an analog G-Shock?

@Cypren: nice group! :tu:

@IMR4198: A-Pack is one of the various civilian MRE-alikes. I don't know where they rank in terms of quality. I'll figure that out when I'm done hereabouts.

Y'awl are keeping up the good work! :2tu:

I think I’ve only done it for two reasons: the kids to eat and to muddle in a mixed drink.

I wouldn’t rule out holiday decorations just yet… if set out enough red and green SAKs it’ll look like Christmas ornaments  :rofl:

Day 17

I made the interesting discovery today that the package opener on the MiniChamp makes a fantastic deburring tool for prints. Cleaned up the edges of this brim quicker and easier than any tool I've ever tried before.

Since I made my MRE with MiniChamp post, I have been getting all sorts of MRE spam on my browser window.

Now that you typed the word spam, you might start seeing advertisements for Spam.

@AzteCypher: is that an analog G-Shock?

Unfortunately no.  It's a Guess watch my sister bought me years ago.

Going to have to remember that on my next 3D print.

Mail call!!!  The Minichamp had it easy today.

Day 17: taking a ride on the dump truck. This month so far has been pretty tame as far as multitool use for me! Cut something here or there, use the screwdriver. Not much to report! Maybe will get an opportunity to put it through more use soon. I will say in the months leading up to the challenge the minicamp has proven to be exceptionally useful. I think I have used every tool  for something except for the emergency blade and the ruler since I bought it.  [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Day 18

     I made another MRE meal yestiddy.  Retrieved the highly squshulated Pop Tarts from their encapsulation for breakfast, and decided to cook the main pack for lunch.  Give the partially successful heater pack another go.  This turned out to be cheese tortellini maybe.  I didn't look.  This time the heater pack was a total fail.  Put in the water.  Shake.  Nuttin.  Used the range top again.  Pasta tasted fine.
     Friend Aztec mentioned SPAM.  I could have stood some of that.  The canned type.  On the Thanksgiving turkey front, I picked up a frozen turkey breast.  Three pounds.  Vermin probably won't get leftovers from something that size.  Easier handling and prep.
     Daily MiniChamp photo.  Best wishes.  G

Day 18

I went out to take out the garbage cans and realized that I had left the flashlight I usually carry on my belt in the basement. Midnite MiniChamp to the rescue.

Day 19

     MiniChamp playing checkers while IMR waited for a haircut.  Not many people getting their hair cut any more.  I'm not sure exactly why.  Folks look like they are having their hair cut somewhere, but I can't tell you where.
      I saw a guy yestiddy standing and staring at the jars of mayonnaise in a grocery store.  I planned on picking up a jar too, so I parked myself alongside.  After we both viewed the off-white containers a while I said, "Looks like you have to take out a loan to buy a jar of mayo."  He said, "Just what I was thinking."  I left him with his thoughts and continued on my way.  Without any may may.  I don't know if he bought a jar or is as stubborn as me.  Best wishes.  G

@AzteCypher: I clean up a garage on a daily basis. :D

@Grand_Banana: a Kick! :like:

@Cypren: you already have snow on the ground? :ahhh
@IMR4198: neat checker board! :tu:

#@MrToolJunkie: I am not a fan of the 91mm pen. Maybe the retractable one on a 58mm would work better for me. :think:

No use today,  but i thought I would take a picture of one implement I have not needed yet... the small driver and ruler. Still a few days left to see if a need comes up.

Noticed my scales are getting a little scratched from locker carry too.

Just saw this @Farmer X... this is a bracket for a toilet paper holder. My 8 month old puppy decided to teepee the house and rip the bracket right off the wall for good measure. The bracket has a spring clip and the screws mount the clip to the wall. The SCM came in handy to help with the repair.

@Cypren: you already have snow on the ground? :ahhh

We had the 11th largest snowstorm ever recorded in Denver as our first snow of the season, back on the weekend of the 9th. It dumped over two feet of snow in 24 hours, and it still hasn't all melted off despite daily temperatures in the 50s ever since.

Day 19

Installing a new thermostat for the bathroom floor heater. The sensor wires had to be connected using these tiny flathead screws; as it turns out, the MiniChamp's ruler/screwdriver tip was just barely long enough to secure them.

Day 20

     Time is getting shorter with my second November to Remember challenge.  Last year I posted a photo of a little cedar tree with the MiniChamp tied to it like a Christmas ornament.  For this year, I found the same little tree and used the same small red ornament.  It made the tree bend over a little like Charlie Brown's pitiful plant did last year.  Since then, it is apparent the wee tree has bulked up some and avoided being trampled or munched on by the deer.  The mighty mini made hardly a wiggle in the boughs this year.  Probably too healthy for the Peanuts gang this time.  Best wishes.  G

Day 20

Scissors and main blade removed tags from kids new clothes.  Another quiet uneventful day.

This is my other Alox MC.  It used it live in my work bag until switched with a Rambler.

Playing around with the editing effects shows the wear on main blade from opening packages and containers in the lab.

Trimming off the end of some filament after it got ground up in the extruder gears. Turns out the filament spool was improperly wound and there was essentially a knot tied in the middle that had to be untangled to allow it to keep spooling.

Day 21

    Seems like some of our challenge members got left at the last gas station.  Probably still looking at magazines on the news rack when we pulled out.  Should have done a nose count before hitting the road again?  Maybe they can hitch a ride.  At least friend Aztec brought bacon.  I looked in the guide manual.  Bacon and/or flap jacks can be eaten any time of day.  Page 14.
    I opened up the A-Pack MREs.  Curiosity killed this cat.  I got this chemical heat pack to work.  In just seconds after adding water, it had already scalded the cat urine out of my finger with steam.  I forgot to put the included pasteboard heat retention sleeve around the assembly, so it still didn't get the ration very hot.  No crackers.  A compressed fruit bar.  A spork.  No matches in these civvy packs.  The makers should splurge the extra 2 cents and put in a little fold of toilet paper, a book of matches, and a packaged wet wipe.  There was a banana smoothie in a pack.  Thick as pudding.  In retrospect, maybe you are supposed to add water?  I didn't.  It tasted like Zippo stuffing and must have been half sugar.  The main dish was vegetables in sauce with pasta.  I recognized the kidney beans.  If served at an elementary school, not a single kid would have eaten it.  I take that back.  There was always one kid who ate his own food and mooched more from the other kids at the table.  You could tell him by the amount of lunch on his face and clothes.
    Emergency rations.  I get it.  The A-Pack had enough in one package for a meal.  It didn't make me sick after I ate it.  That is a passing grade for me.  Three meals?  Not really.  Fruit bar for breakfast.  Veggie goop for lunch.  Smoothie for supper?  I don't know.  No crackers was a big loss.  Some crackers with a squeezie of peanut butter or a pack of crackers with the filling inside would have been a big plus.  No coffee or drink mix which is a fail.  Best wishes.  G
