Swiza Saturday!
on: September 01, 2024, 12:18:43 AM
Note that I chose the Edged Tools subforum for this thread because, though Swizas are made in Switzerland, they are not a supplier to the Swiss Army.

I recently acquired a Swiza D03 (I think I identified it correctly), and my initial impressions are very favorable. So I am hereby starting up Swiza Saturday. Bring out your favorite Swiza knives for a little time in the sun!

Here's mine. I don't know if all the red ones have the orange cast, or if mine was a little different from the factory or somehow faded.

Looking good Dan!  Noah acquired one and they're not bad at all.  They're definitely different from the other two Swiss makers, but the scales are grippy and the steel seems to take and hold an edge well.

I've been thinking of picking one up but the one that really caught my eye is only available in Switzerland or Germany.   ???

I had one years ago but sent it back due to the blade lock not working properly.

Picked up a D03 a few years ago. Carry it every now and then. A few months ago I grabbed a TT03. Haven’t carried it yet.

Bought both from Bernard Neets and Bow and Oake Knives from Facebook. Bernard is excellent!!

Some have had bad luck with the locking mechanism, others have stated that the scales tend to wear out where you press down to unlock the blade. The scissors are unique and work ok if not all that comfortable to use. The tick removal tool is something you do not see much in a knife. The handle are very ergonomic.
A little Leatherman information.

I hope you get ahold of one eventually!

I assume that "TT" denotes presence of the tick tool. I'd be interested to hear how well it works.

Some have had bad luck with the locking mechanism, others have stated that the scales tend to wear out where you press down to unlock the blade.
The locking mechanism was one thing I noticed pretty quickly. It's a liner lock, so I endeavor to minimize use of the button. Nice to see the photos of yours, especially with the packaging!

Thanks to awl for the replies!

I had been deciding on one of these and, shamefully, pulled the trigger this morning.

I'd have to call and ask. And the trip would be contingent upon having a car that's safe to drive (mine presently is not).
