Winter Magic 2024
on: September 15, 2024, 10:02:28 PM
I’ve seen a url to a winter magic 2024 spartan that is currently broken, and a YouTube video that shows this image.

If this is really it, I’m not super impressed. Certainly doesn’t compare to last year’s cadet.

:iagree: I saw the same on a UK SAK site.

I'm never going to pay a premium for the most basic SAK unless it's Alox (even Xmas/Winter stuff)

Last years Cadet was amazing (I believe they rotate with Alox/Cellidor each year?)

If they did a deluxe Tinker for this year though...(or a Bantam  :ahhh)

I have no basis for my comments other than a.n. other SAK site
They don't like it up 'em!

How  much is it ? I figure about $45 to $50. Not in love with the look and probably will pass on it. Looks like they have retired Swiss Spirit limited editions

next year it will probably be a laser engraved walnut scaled knife. The Pioneer X and the Cadet have been my favorite of all the releases

Yes it seems to be the case unfortunatelly.

Would anyome have any further info/confirmation whether the Swiss Spirit edition is discontinued?

I can't say I am impressed either. And it's a Spartan to boot...can't make myself carry a Spartan for some reason. I'm a Tinker man, through and through.

:woohoo:  My old Spartan woody is sexier and it was less than $35 only a few months ago.

any pics of what the backside of the new 2024 Winter Magic look like? The frontside is not doing it for me or the light blue translucent scales and did I hear correctly that it's going to be about $70 U.S ? Would have looked better in smoky gray translucent instead of light blue. It would have given the effect of night and the white print would pop more but still don't love the image on it or the printed on shield. Printed on shields are the worst and makes the knives look cheap and tacky. Just my 2 cents on this new model

What we need are some actual good pictures - clear, with real colour.

Here’s a pic I took from the video short. It’s the old pale blue transparent they used to make that was replaced with the Tropical Surf color. Dark Smoky Gray transparent would look better than the blue and I'm figuring on the back is probably images of large snow flakes. This one won't be selling out fast

Well I like the scales - Very 'Christmassy / Winter Magicy' .... unlike last year !  .....  :pok:    :o

.... As amazing as the Cadet was I could not see the Winter scene!!

For this year - Just not impressed with the model choice  - So many special edition Spartans!!  ..... Yawn    >:D

I like the scales as well.  It is a shame that Victorinox didn't make the special run a model that everybody has been grieving about being discontinued.  That way the price wouldn't seem so steep, since some of the cherished discontinued models are bringing serious prices on the secondhand market.  Best wishes.  G

Next year will probably be a lasered wood Tinker. 2026 should be the return of a good Winter Magic in Alox

Thanks for the pics. I like it. Too bad they weren’t plus scales. I could put them on a Compact. I wonder what the back side looks like.

didn't Victorinox call that color of blue, tourmaline back when they used gem names to name the colors  ? I wish they would bring back the dark gray onyx like they put on the Voyager Climber's. That blue color is growing on me but the image on it , is still not doing it for me. I hope to see some pics of the backside of it soon.

There was a Light Sapphire once upon a time.  Very light blue.  That looks a lot like it.  We hashed out the ABS colors on See Through Sunday a while back.  The stone tourmaline sometimes is light blue also.  Best wishes.  G

Oh, you won't get it on sale. You'll have to pay full price!

I think it comes out this week. pony up $70 for it. they could have at least made it a plus scale model with white mini screwdriver to go with the white tweezers and toothpick to justify the $70. these will probably be hanging around for a while and won't disappear like last years model did

I think somebody has jumped the gun as I just saw the Winter Magic 2024, on the following website:

https://www.armysales.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=3200

(As usual, no association or endorsement stated or implied – I was just idly looking for more details on the latest Winter Magic design
  )

At £54.99, that seems quite reasonable. Well, if you like the design.

Though, weirdly, it isn’t on Victorinox UK yet?

I dunno.  I’ve snagged the last few that were in Alox, but the screen-printed cellidor just doesn’t really do it for me.

Looks like ABS instead of cellidor.  I wonder if it is inside printed, since the scales look to be translucent?  Somebody will get one eventually and tell us for sure instead of just guessing.  Best wishes.  G
