I can’t see the photo on my end.

Edit: as soon as I posted that it popped up!

Sorry, it was my mistake. Tapatalk does not work well so I use the forum through web browser after a long time and I was elaborating how to attach the picture.

Is that 110 pro disassemble-able?

I would say so however I haven't tried yet. There are standard screws so I would assume you can disassemble it. However, I tried to switch the clip to the other side and I was not successful. Even if it looks like it is ready for that I was not able to place the screws to the other side. So I returned the clip back to the original side (I am left handed, that is why I needed to switch the clip).

Day 2

Cutting up some strawberries to go with my oatmeal.  The 110 had no difficulties in this operation.  The sharp edge of the blade did not touch the plate nor my skin.

This Hartsook looks like a “neck knife” which is really popular in bushcraft circles. It would benefit Buck to make a few more of these types of knives to regain popularity.

Hi ElevenBlade,

I practice Bushcraft most days, and have a number of neck knives, while I did buy this for that use, it has missed the mark for a usable neck knife....mainly as it is very uncomfortable in hand.

If you compare those the esee candiru or the Tops Latitude North 43, as a comparison, either of the latter can perform better in Bushcraft task, as a back up blade.

Unfortunately for my experience, of outdoors and farming tasks, the hartsook is a knife better kept in a first aid kit or very last ditch need....now if the sheath design to be was reversed and hand lock into the sheath it would be a winner.

see picture below of some neck knives

As for my neck knife carrying options, it's any of these....

Top to bottom:
Coldsteel Pendleton mini hunter in VG1
Esee Izula 2 in 1095
Survive Knives GSO 2.7 in CPM20v
Esee Candiru in 1095

The GSO 2.7 and Candiru are my most carried.

@LoopCutter - Really liking those carbon scales.

Day 2

Used the scissors on the Newt to cut open a bag of coffee beans this morning.  They did ok for the size but they did struggle a bit on the part where the bag was doubled over.

May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.

I honestly don't know if I could do a whole month with this as my only blade, it's not the length of blade, but how it feels in the hand with use, if you are repeatedly cutting or cutting hard materials, it is painful to use....
Would it benefit from a paracord wrap?

Day 2: 112 Slim Select. Spent some time putting a new edge on it last night on a worksharp guided angle sharpener that was given to me for Christmas. The edge angles from factory seemed to be different from each other. That can make re-sharpening take a little extra time I think. I am happy with how it came out. It is extremely sharp now. 15 degrees each side. It may be one of the sharpest knives I have owned. I’m looking forward to continuing to use the new sharpener.

Would it benefit from a paracord wrap?

The issue is that if you want to use the original sheath, you cannot mod the handle. I was thinking about a polycarbonate removable handle, but then it changes the hartsook too much.....oh well I'll sort something out.

Picture below shows the sheath issue, you cannot mod the handle and use the sheath

I did add a simple leather but to the end, it helps when holding a little...fills the palm a bit more.

Not going to spend the money on these, but this is an unusual cool looking design that I didn’t know Buck made at one point. EDIT: Looking it up it may be the “lightning” model I may have seen or heard of in the past. Still unusual though.  [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Just a couple of years ago I went camping and I shoved this in my pocket along with my usual SAK. At one point at night, as everyone was getting peckish and I was in charge of cooking over the fire I found myself using the Buck constantly. It was just easier to open, close, and to use without worrying that I was torquing it in the wrong direction or something.

I’ve also found that, when using a knife frequently, it’s nice not to have to use your fingernail to open.  OHO & OHC make things quicker and easier as well.

Day 2

Alright, kind of a weird one today. After yesterday's success in cargos, I decided to try carrying the 112 in my work slacks. It's not nearly the boat anchor some people make it out to be.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]
Can you find the 110 hiding in this picture?

If you work an "business casual" type job and can't be hauling around a sheath, I can't recommend these Dockers "security pocket" chinos enough. Comfortable, durable, dressy enough, and the fifth pocket can take a full sized multi (or pocket knife) comfortably.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Didn't get around to actually using it on anything. I did miss my toothpick. Might have to grab a Swissbuck if I can find one for cheap.

Buck 301 today, a lot of people complain about how light the pull is on bucks slipjoints, but I love them.

Day 1

Opened these books for my youngest son with a 301
Teach the kiddos the value of a good pocket knife early.

Day 2

Buck buck buckuck!
Chicken dinner. I'm hilarious.
:D
Was wondering if Buck tool would make an appearance.
DAY 2

Back to work, and the day started with emails and the first meeting of the day with my manager....at 8:30am for an hour.....I need coffee  :twak:

So as a pick me up, ahead of the day, I prepared food for dinner....now I only have just one Buck knife the hartsook, for those of not familiar with the hartsook, it is a tiny blade, with no handle and just a hair width over 1mm thick....think survival tin knife.

So the challenge is veg for a roast pork lunch/dinner.....all food is cut with the hartsook only...

First is the sour dough bread cob for the bread sauce, that was painful as the bread is a week and half old, and a dense bread to start with.

Now the cabbage

Leeks....this was so much easier, and just glided through

And kalets, a hybrid between kal and brussel sprouts....these will be cooked in a white cheese sauce

The hartsook did it all, but it's very uncomfortable to use, and doesn't have the reach.

The positives is that the S30v steel is nice and holds an edge (I did sharpen it first as the factory edge was dull for my tastes), and for a crazy thin blade it didn't bend, and I really pushed down on it with the bread and cabbage....

I honestly don't know if I could do a whole month with this as my only blade, it's not the length of blade, but how it feels in the hand with use, if you are repeatedly cutting or cutting hard materials, it is painful to use....
Nice use.  The trade off of a skeleton handles-  great for inconspicuous carry but definitely not as comfortable if using a lot at one time.
Day 1

I have some catching up to do. For the first day I decided to take a picture of all my Bucks together.

1. Buck 347 Vantage Pro, S30V steel - I bought this knife back in 2016 when I lived in the US. It was some batch purchase and it cost me like $60 back then.
After that I bought two classic 112s for my father and my grandfather as a gift. Those are not on the picture as they don't belong to me.
2. and 3. 389 Canoe and 371 Stockman I bought in 2024 to participate in the traditional challenge.
4. 110 Slim Pro with S30V steel I bought in September 2024 and is my EDC mostly since then. I feel this is the best 110 made. It is light with the clip yet still robust.
5. Classic 110 - bought in October 2024 as new but without sheath. The one on the picture is custom made and way better than the original one, I would say. I love this classic but it is really made to be carried in sheath.
Glad to have you

Day 2:
Today was our first day back to school after Christmas break. The 055 was perfect in my 5th pocket. It's going to be hard to put this one down. I used it to open a new pack of S-biners that came in the mail today.

Since tomorrow is Friday, we can wear jeans, so I may carry my other new Buck or my 112 that I just sharpened up.  I guess we will see what the mood dictates tomorrow. Great day 2, everyone!

Now it really looks like a Buck! I like it.

That sharp tip actually looks like it could be useful for really fine work like removing a splinter or something. I hope you like it and I didn’t talk you into messing with your brand new knife if you didn’t want to!

Day 2.

2014 284 Bantam BBW in Mossy Oak, Jennmar ad.

Because it's just about right at 3 3/4" closed, feels great in the hand, is one-hand opening, and is feather-light--it's my most-used Buck. Spent over a year in the display case due to the ad (mining industry), but I paid less than half a new one and this one is effectively new.
