Day 3

Carried through 110 most of the day before switching to the 112. The only really use was the 110 helped open a package. A new knife from Protech.

The SAK is just a tinker that I've been carrying that last two months now. Because , well, the 110 might be the GOAT, but it's still isn't good a good screwdriver or can opener.

Honorary mention to my cat that wanted to scope out what I was doing.

Here are some badges. We can weed out 4 or so, and have a poll to pick the winner.

My vote goes to the top right one.

Today sharing my first BUCk that I bought for work duty on construct job to use as easy to pocket carry knife for miscellaneous jobs.  (2nd from the top, notice the blade)

A BANTAM 284.
[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]

This is also a fun knife as it was available in several colors, 420HC steel, BOS heat treat. Mid Lock Back.
A great intro knife for first timers requiring a locking blade.
Plus there are other size offers of the BANTAM LINE!

The MUDDY GIRL pattern in my favorite😉💕

 :like:
I carried an orange one of those for a long time before eventually passing it on to my brother....you immediately lost it.  I should buy another, but I'm partial to the 112 slim series nowadays.

Day Three of Buck

Today I carried my old 1989 Bucklite 442 I got when I was in Boy Scouts. This is where my love of all things Buck started. Bucklites were real popular as we were backpacking the Ozarks and the lower Rockies back then and weight mattered.

1990 Trip - had the Buck then. I'm the tall nerdy one in back.

1995 - Had the buck with me then too. Assistant Scoutmaster. Red headed fellow.

I think i went at least 5 times to Philmont with that Buck. 1989, 1990, 1992, 1993, and 1995.

My best friend in college always carried a green 422 at the time. I thought it was neat after holding it. Finally snagged one on ebay a couple of days ago and it will be here soon! It will need a little restoration, but can’t complain for 18 bucks plus shipping!

This is not my listing and I have no affiliation at all with the seller.

If someone in this challenge is a University of Florida fan, this seems almost too cool to pass up in my opinion. Thankfully I’m not a UF fan. Go Dawgs.

My daughter and SIL bought this Toyota Japanese firetruck for fun.  They put some Christmas lights on it for the season which now need to come off.  The 110 is pressed into service to cut the tie-wraps in order to remove the lights.

Day 4

My 110 has a 2023 tang stamp.  I did not like the included leather pouch.  I decided to purchase a fabric pouch from Buck.  It is for the 110.  It fits, but is a bit tight.

Buck does nice Micarta handles as well.
Two fix blades I like, a 104 my camp knife. And 245 Matt Leathers.  Prettiest handled fixie I own.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

 sounds like a great day.

When I was in the Boy Scouts Camillus was making the pocketknives.

I recently went to check out the knife counter at the outdoor outfitter I’ve been shopping at for 35 years now. I looked at the Buck Bantam and the man behind the counter mentioned that this is what he has been recommending to Scouts nowadays.

Day 4

Opening boxes. Went to the store to return some items, and the receipt was in the packing slip pocket on the package itself.

Fortunately the guy at the register didn’t get nervous when I pulled out the Buck. It was an outdoor apparel store after all

Carry a 373 today. I admittedly don't have a 303, I really should buy one.

I have a few 373 roaming around, this one actually has a cracked spring on the main blade. So I'm considering drilling out the pins and swapping the main blade onto the sheepsfoot or spey blade spring. Buuuut I've been saying that for years and I've never done it.

The 373 is fully warranted by Buck.

They likely will not repair, instead replace it.
A friend sent his 371 in for broken pivot pin. Returned a 301 ROSEWOOD.

Day 4

A 110 on package duty.

This particular 110 features black G-10 slabs, nickel silver bolsters, and S30V steel.  It’s a tank, but at 7.6 oz  it’s just heavier than I want to haul around, so ends up more of a desk knife for me.

The box contained a little something for next month’s combo edge challenge…

Packed my 055 since we only had plans to go to our friends' house for brunch. This afternoon I stopped by the post office and a package from Hill People Gear containing my new chest pack came in. Rather than fish the 055 out of my pocket I used the large Bantam that lives in the center console of my wife's Suburban. The packing tape was no match! 🤣

I think this I like the nickel more than brass.  :tu:

And I can’t wait to see what you got for the Combo Edge Challenge for February  :like:

I have actually been eyeing Spyderco lately because they’re supposedly one of the better makers of lockback knives nowadays. They’re pricey, but they’re popular.

Helped my Mother in law move in to her new apartment today.  Let my Brother in law  use my brand new Buck 112.  The first inch of the blade is now completely dull, a butter knife is sharper!  Not sure what he was cutting, but dang.

Buck Day Four

Today was a lazy day around the house. I broke out the Buck Tools for carry next week. They are similar to the SOG Paratool.
