Shooting range weekend
on: October 12, 2024, 12:27:48 PM
Haven't been to the range in a while and decided since I'm off, I'm going.  Ended up going on Thursday.  Later that evening I got notification from ATF that my Rugged Oculus 22lr had been approved.   These transfers used to take almost a year.  This suppressor only took 5 days to approve!  Picked it up that evening and went back to the range the next day, lol.  Had to test it right?

From left to right:  an XM177 build 5.56, a 10.5" SBR with an AB suppressor mounted, a Ruger MKIV Tactical with AB Suppressor Littlebird and Vortex red dot, and a Ruger Single Six.

50 rounds with the Ruger MKIV 15yds unsupported

I thought I only shot 6 rounds into this target with the Ruger Single six, but there's 8 shots there.

Very nice! Love the setup on that Ruger.

I'm hitting an IDPA match myself today, can't wait.

So do not take the lecture too seriously, feeling that you really have to understand in terms of some model what I am going to describe, but just relax and enjoy it. I am going to tell you what nature behaves like. If you will simply admit that maybe she does behave like this, you will find her a delightful, entrancing thing." Richard Feynman, 1964, MIT.

Thanks!  Haven't done any IDPA matches, but have done a bunch of Steel Challenge matches, super fun.

Nice!

Aside from the magazines being a pain to load without a tool, I like those Ruger .22 target pistols. They're fun to shoot, and they're little tack drivers. :tu:

It went well! I was shooting my GLOCK 43 in BUG division as I usually do since that's my CCW. I was down more than I'd have liked, 23 vs the 12 or less I'd aimed for but I haven't shot a match in a few months and overall I was pretty happy with how it went.

Were you able to get all the baffles apart on the Oculus?

I haven't taken it apart to clean yet, but when I do I'll report here
