Or Stink , oh hang on the misses work shoes have a smell that would offend a skunk. One Christmas I gave her a pair of odour eaters for her work shoes as a joke . Apparently not very funny  ::) ::) :D :D

I've done worse. Last summer I was on Scarborough beach with my wife and boys when I became overwhelmed by noxious fumes. Having identified them as my wife's trainers I went to the nearest gift/tat shop and bought her a pair of croc knock offs. Upon my return I collected the source of the miasma and deposited them in the nearest (downwind) bin.

Now to bring this thread vaguely back on topic :)  I was going to pull apart a couple of LMs tonight with my recently acquired pair of Kick clips.  This hasn't happened as the hole on one of them is oval not round :(  Not an expensive item but living in the UK not the easiest of items to locate.

EDIT:  :oops: I've already pinched the clips - I actually have two packets with just the screws in - sorry  :-[

Here's the latest. This was in a bit of a mess when it arrived this morning, but I've stripped it right down, cleaned it and taken some fine sandpaper to it since.

I'm actually very pleased with this one, the file is slightly bent (but still useable), and the screws were so badly seized that I damaged one of them a little taking it apart, otherwise you would struggle to tell it from new. This one's going into my EDC as from tomorrow.

I used to come here a lot.

Dave, very nice mate!  :cheers:  Do you ever use steel wool on your multi's? I find it works great fro removing surface rust and it doesn't scratch the tool.  :tu:

I do, yes. In fact I did on this one for parts.

My basic "process" goes like this:

1. Take it completely apart;
2. Seperate all the parts and place them in a tub - drown in WD40 to loosen any rust / crud / old loctite;
3) Let it soak there for at least an hour;
4) Remove from the WD40 wipe / scrape off any rust crud etc, rinse;
5) Spray with a disinfectant cleaning fluid - leave for 30 minutes;
6) Wash with washing up liquid using wire wool and tooth brush;
7) Dry all parts and get busy with the sandpaper to remove deeper rust / scratches / nicks;
8) Put it back together and apply loctite;
9) Oil.

I used to come here a lot.

Great, thanks for the run down...  :cheers:  What oil do you use for the PST's?

I'm using 3 in 1 PTFE oil at the moment, it seems to work well and doesn't get all cruddy like the regular stuff.

LM123 - it's in the picture ;) (1500 grit)

OK - Let's!

Neil (NKB) sent me a Kershaw A100 in a trade, and it arrived today. Neil had warned me that it was a bit grubby, so it was a planned clean-up job!

Here it is before:
