... Artificial Incompetence.....

I need to remember that one.

Anybody remember the early “digital” clocks with the numbers printed on a rolodex type mechanism.  AND, sometimes the flipping number cards were noisy.  Especially after a long bar night.  Another thought, Anybody remember a Rolodex?  Sometimes my mind just wanders.

Mom used to have an alarm clock with the flipping numbers.  I always thought those were pretty cool.  I even thought about picking up a rolodex to put all my business cards in there.  I keep talking myself out of it.

Day 17

Just giving it a few passes to bring it up to snuff.

May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.

Day 18

I hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day yesterday.  I got out and soaked up some of the sun until I had to go inside or freeze.  They don't make May holidays like they used to.
I have been a little afraid to ask the Artificial Ignorance thing what holiday, if any, there is today.  Wait a minute.  I think I will ask anyway.  Be right back.  This one is hot off the servers.  It is President's Day today.  No mail delivery, and it is also Monday again.  Might be that there will be eight days in this week, or possibly Tuesday has been deleted.
Sort of a relief actually.  I was afraid there would be something like Burn Your Socks Day, or National Ketchup-free Day.  I turned the AI thing off again.  That thing is like a rash.  Even after you turn it off, you still get machine bred stupidity in your searches.
Time for a photo.  Wingman with a yellow knife that I carried along to add some color.  Best wishes.  G

Day 18

Rescue stayed in my pocket all day.  Only thing that got rescued was a new water heater for my household hot water.  Of course what is available today is similar but not an exact fit.  So wiring and plumbing skills got utilized.

Day 19

Had to remove the seal from a small sized can of snacks.  I never was a huge fan of pretzels, but these are pretty good.  Sourdough pretzels.  Must be the kind that gold prospectors made when they lived in the Yukon long weary years ago.  Probably fed them to the sled dogs.  I never lived there, but I was a huge fan of a documentary series about the Sourdoughs, Mounties, and Cheechakoes.  It was called Sergeant Preston of the Yukon.  He had the bravest and strongest lead dog in the whole Northwest.  Yukon King.  There was a radio show also.  Challenge of the Yukon.  Same solid information about Mounties, etc.  Same heroic dog.  Comic books too.  They probably just made those up.  Best wishes.  G

Yesterday, I had the 550SBK with me. I did accidentally test the blade sharpness and it bit me. Some days.

Day 18

One might be forgiven for assuming that the D2 Extreme is simply the Next Generation with a black D2 blade, instead of gray 440A.  I certainly believed this at one time.

Side by side, however, some differences become apparent.

Besides the obvious color/coating and material, the blades are very similar.  But the grind angles are subtly different, and the Extreme has a slightly more acute point.

The handles are also very similar at first glance.  However, the handle on the Extreme is a bit longer, but not as big around, as the handle of the Next Generation.  While difficult to tell from the pic, the handle on the Next Generation is rounder, while the Extreme is a bit flatter.  Ultimately, the Extreme is somewhat more comfortable for my hand.

The Covert pulled cigar duty today.

Secondary lock not engaged, as it was a standard cigar cutting, not a tactical cigar cutting.

Went with the 943SBK today. Really like the pointy blade of this Osborne designed knife. It was used on masking duty in the kitchen today.
