That is a great use of the scissors!

Did that too with my kids, but they grew quickly.

Margaritas.  Did you partake too?

I've mostly been having martinis. Dry with a twist is my go to, but I tried a Vesper today and enjoyed it.

Day 11: cleaned up and got prepared for a new wheel stand arriving tomorrow (no more clamping it to my desk, yay!).

With my current desk, you have to remove the lap drawer to make a lip thin enough to clamp the wheel onto. Had a Walmart cheapo bought for the job, but it was terrible. This one is 70+ years old.

Just bought a Thrustmaster shifter from Walmart (as I have a Thrustmaster wheel--should've got the PXN one for $20 or so less off Amazon--splitter AND park brake buttons), and I had to take the right drawer out for it.

The T128 does not include a clutch, but the TH8A is available as a bundle with the T128, so they do work without a clutch. Some games have an auto clutch setting (so far, BeamNG plus the shifter has been awesome), others not (American Truck Simulator so far does, but now I have to remap the wheel). I'll try some racing games with it later this evening.

Running late today.  We had 2 of the grandkids throughout the day.  Resurrected a pic from the SOG Power challenge earlier this year.

I'm a sucker for state fair corn dogs.  That and funnel cakes.   :D

Day 12

No use today unfortunately.  Too busy banging my head against a keyboard.  Tomorrow is another day full of fresh opportunities though.  :tu:

Day 12
Leatherman Squirt is awesome for small light carry on a hike.  The knife cut open a protein gel as nearing the end.

Thought I would include a few other pictures, as well

Day 13

Wednesday the 13th.  I forgot to look for garlic at W-Mart.  I looked at my neck in the mirror and so far haven't seen any bite marks.  Plus, it's always a good sign that you can see yourself in a mirror.
I wonder if the white car individual has moved in with Ms. Phoenix?  Nothing strange has happened yet, except for one possibly unrelated time continuum slippage.  Something flaps past my window every evening late, but it is just a Cooper's hawk, or whatever you call those white bellied medium sized hawks.  Probably catching grasshoppers or mice or something.  I will need to be cautious checking my mail in case the new kid on the block has brought a big wolfy dog with them.  Or possibly just a big wolf.
How about a Swiss+Tech photo?  Best wishes.  G

MINI CHALLENGE FOR FRIDAY 15

I figured to fill in if nobody volunteered by Wednesday (today).  Requirements for Friday's mini-challenge are these:  1) Usual key-chain tool photo,2) something orange colored, 3) a strange hand tool.  First two you can figure out.  The third has to be something you have that not everyone else does.  Could be a tool to set teeth on a saw, something to put tags in cow's ears, barbed wire pliers.  Out of the ordinary.
You have two days to think it over.  Post your entries by Friday August 15.
Best wishes.  G

I like the Dime for just this sort of thing too, Sherry.  It's small, light, and has a lot of tools in a package not much larger than a Mini Champ.

Day 13

Went to Halifax and met Grant! I think he's gonna post a pic later. When the ship left, we got piped off by this bagpiper. They even had a Sgian-dubh, which I've heard has been a point of some drama in Canada (could be one of the ones that's just a handle or something).

Sounds like fun.

The Sigian-dubh might have just been a ceremonial one with a blunt edge.  I know non-sharpened edges (or making non-working) are common practice for certain ceremonial groups so as not to causing issues with laws.

Fisher enjoys looking at the water and looking out over it, but I don’t have to worry about him taking a swim, because he hates being wet,

Day 12 Catch Up

Used the little blade on the Dime to cut caulking on the entry door trim. Then removed and installed new trim. I am trying to get the exterior of the house ready for repaint. I figure I got until the 15th of September before the rain set back in here in the Pacific Northwest.

Day 13

Just a glam shot today. The boys and I had to take a quick trip over to Yakima today. We had a beautiful drive over Snoqualmie Pass. Once we started to drop down into Ellensburg , we ran into smoke from wildfires in the area. The smoke was pretty thick and we felt bad for anyone that had respiratory issues.

That is cool!
What cruise line?

I was on Royal Caribbean in late September 2023, but I thought Grant lived in New Brunwick sometimes and Quebec other times.

After my trip learn he was in Halifax and not the far from the pier.   He sent a package my way.

Have fun, I enjoyed my travels up the east coast and two ports in CANADA.

I love me some bagpipes.  When I was younger, I wanted to learn how to play the bag pipes as I always thought they were very cool.  I learned early on that I could barely play a kazoo.  While I still think bagpipes are cool, I'm pretty sure my family appreciates me not trying to learn them.

Day 13

Used the pliers to pull out a staple from this board before buying it so as not to slice my hand or the interior of our SUV.

LM really got it right with the PS4 imo, all the tools are useful and in a great sized package, really beats me why they dropped it without a replacement :dunno:
