💥DAY 02💥

this challenge has coincided perfectly with my impending midlife crisis  :ahhh

As some of you know Mrs. Explorer and I got divorced. but it's all good i've been sports car shopping and started dating a woman much younger than me.

my new gf gave me this little pouch thingy which is kind of girly but it's also the perfect size for a mini MacGyver kit. So today I've been carrying this setup:

Alox MiniChamp
Ultra vintage MacGyver multitool
Biodegradable brown paper tape

Other items in the mini kit:
Titanium magnifying glass
Titanium mini space pen
Titanium toothpick

My little one's beloved vibrating ball is out of juice...much to the dog's joy. Time for a battery replacement with help from the trusty CyberTool 34.

Day 2 - Think  MacGyver would have been proud to use the 91 mm scissors in this simple 84 mm mod with black nylon scales.

Day 2

Small TINKER is still with me, but found the pivots were stiffer than I cared for, lubrication required.

Yet, undecided if the 84mm Tinker will continue, as I have  become a fan of the corkscrew for many little uses.  Also, if to add a dangle clip and move paper clip combo to the tape roll. 🙄

Day 2

Used the Nailclip this morning for some grooming and decided to drop it in my pocket for today's carry. Also gave someone a piece of duct tape from the card. He was very impressed.

Didn't need to use the Mac kit today. Will likely be the case most days. But, my chunky yellow friend was on standby with his two sidekicks just in case. We had a severe weather outbreak today (and likely each day for the rest of the week). But Mac kit is ready to go at a moments notice!

Now I did it, Challenges have this affect on me!

Or, maybe OCD…

I realized from a the SAK challenge last year, my Tinker was a 84mm, and I enjoyed the size and I found some EVO designs I enjoyed and lucked out on an auction site obtaining more than one of those styles.

Well, this morning, I missed out on an exclusive CASE release, and I had an itch that needed scratching.

So, I searched for a 91mm Tinker.  Found one!  But not until I found a Super Tinker first.
Shucks, it is a mirror image of my CLIMBER, but fitted with a PHILLIPS.

So now, a TINKER 91 is in route to me as well as a SUPER TINKER, w/scissors.

Then, I start thinking, if my 84 TINKER has the PHILLIPS, did Victorinox make a 84 Spartan???  And, could I locate one.

Yes, they did!  Called the TOURIST….  But, in the U.S. they sell a version called the SPORTSMAN.  Searching…  oh my right there in the Store on Amazon it is available.

In a matter of 45 minutes, my curiosity is satisfied.  And, a portion of my bonus points will be subtracted from cc statement.  Wow!   Two to arrive maybe Friday, the third next Tuesday.

Oh, yes, one more item, SAKWIKI is checked and studied.
The Spartan was made with a SERRATED BLADE, sold in the U.S. originally as the WEEKENDER!!! Late 90s?

And then later in 2018 or more recent as the SPARTAN SERRATED.

Damn challenges,   Now to avoid colored duct tape, and avoid office supply displays, I bet there are many, many different styles and designs of PAPERCLIPS.

If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

 Day 2
I’ve read before that duck tape is good as a firestarter, but never tried.  Today I decided to try it.  Maybe it was just me, but it didn’t light very easily and didn’t really seem to do very well, especially as compared to other firestarters I used.

Day 1

I missed posting yesterday so starting today.  I’m going to try and stick with a Tinker for the entire challenge.  I’m just not a fan of the t handle Phillips but I’ll give it another go here.

A 91mm Tinker I got used. It needed a little cleaning and scales are rough but implements are in nearly unused condition.

The  MacGyver MT model may switch up. I’ll be keeping the paper clip attached to my notebook and duct tape wrapped around a pen.

I did unroll a paper clip to make two points for an im-class demo.  No tape use.

We are also supposed to post a picture each day. It is part of the challenge, at least for earning the badge. :tu:

To earn the badge, participants are required to, each day, for 30 days, post a picture of a SAK, tape, or paperclip they are carrying,
It is still early, but there are 31 participants so let's keep the rules of the challenge in mind, while this is still at Day 2, and make it easier for me as the host and badge awarderer. :salute:

Edit: No need to post a picture of all three items, a picture of one item is enough, but do post a picture please.

Day 3

Third day and I have already misplaced my MacGyver Tool (MGT) ::)

Note to self: Collect officially stamped-by-agency permit at security box in Swiss (obviously) bank, bring to secret armory to purchase new one, do not loose or drop again.

So the MGT being conspicuous by its absence, here is a poser shot of the SAK and tape with the in-backpack-daily-carried first aid kit. Mostly because they look pretty together, matching colors and all. I think MacGyver can appreciate, him always looking sharp. He might find the colors a bit vulgar though, him mostly sporting clothing in the more pastel or sandy color ranges? :dunno:

Day 3

4198, password dodgeball.  Red protocol.  Dossier received regarding subject codename Woodswalker.  WW tracked to forested area in vicinity.  So far, all effort to apprehend have failed.  Subject WW is known to don extremely realistic costumes.  Often appearing to be animal life or even trees or rocks.  Advanced surveillance equipment use is advised.
Suspicious animal tracks were observed by Agent 4198.  A field analysis of track residue revealed traces of a synthetic origin.  Likely from the footwear of subject Woodswalker.  Photos follow.
