Day 6

Did you know duct tape can peel the top layer (the one with your name and stuff) off a a credit card? Neither did I, until I used up all the tape on my wallet card on a box.

Day #6

[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]

Shout-out to a very capable little fellow: the Rambler!
It was also subject to a very complicated mod - my first one - I switched the toothpick (not a great fan) for a second tweezer  :2tu:

Cheers,
m
I love the Rambler
Day 6

Did you know duct tape can peel the top layer (the one with your name and stuff) off a a credit card? Neither did I, until I used up all the tape on my wallet card on a box.
I discovered that before, I was sad because I felt I wasted 6in of tape.
Day 5

Couldn’t save the crockpot I worked on yesterday. Now’ it’s disassembled and saving the wiring and power cable.

There were 2 screws with these locking nuts for the handle.  Otherwise it was all smalll blade and cap lifter to take it apart.

[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
Good job.

Day 7

I have been watching season one of the Mountain Men.  On-line of course.  I haven't had a TV for a decade or more.  None of the three characters seem to carry much of anything with them.  Wolf tracks around the homestead leads to tales of wolf attacks and many cautions.  Then what do they do?  Go out in the snow and follow tracks unarmed.  Talk about how grizzlies kill dogs on sight.  They let their dog out to run around. Then they try to call it back and act worried.  Another keeps boards with nails positioned all around his trap line shacks.  Grizzly bears.  Tracks all along the sides of the shack.  He carefully scouts around his little hut with a 10-22.  Very useful.  If he is still alive after a grizzly attack, he can put himself out of his misery.
Down in my country, Eustace Conway seems to have a Gerber multi sheath on his belt.  I never have seen him use the multi for anything.  Might carry a can of Copenhagen in the sheath for all I know.  First time I saw him on the show, I recognized him from somewhere.  I have no idea from where?  I skipped ahead until recently and saw where all his property was damaged by the same hurricane that came over my house.  So badly, you could hardly walk in.  He has some kind of a wreck of a pocket knife that he used once on the program to whittle a peg for a primitive shed.
All entertaining.  Still raining here.  Much needed.  I need to get my lawn tractor and weed wacker running.  The weed wacker is ancient.  It's time may have run out.  We will see.  Best wishes.  G

Day 6

MacGyver fixed the engine on this old blue British steam locomotive this morning.

I’m not usually a fan of the t-Phillips because it doesn’t fit in a lot of spaces I use my SAK drivers.  This child gate is one of the exceptions where it is a perfect fit.

Day 7

I used the Wenger and some gorilla tape to temporarily fix a backpack, which had some holes in the perforated bit of one of the side pockets ment for bottles. That perforated, woven kind of net fabric is not very tough. Not on this specific backpack anyway.  :dunno: I wonder why they make them as such?

I am impressed!   A multi-layer board for scales. That is so 😎
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Day 7

I have been watching season one of the Mountain Men.  ~
~

I loved that show, as well as THE LAST ALASKANS.

MARTY, Tom Ohr and Euctase and his buddy Preston Robert’s were favorite characters.

Loved Preston, sadly he past away. Tom is an amazing old cowboy. With serious skills.

Hiemo Korth on THE LAST ALASKANS is the only one I have observed using a MT regularly in the wild.

He wears a LEATHERMAN SUPERTOOL 300.  He said it was a gift.

He is filmed using it to  dress out and field butcher a moose he shot.  More than once too!
Also, accessing the storage barrels at camp, the screw driver to unscrew  the bands.

His daughter Krinn is also shown using a Buck110 to dress out a Caribou she dropped while on date hunt with her husband.

Via your computer, you say😎. I have to check that out on HISTORY CHANNEL ONLINE.

Good morning and Happy Monday all!

If I have time this morning, and that's a BIG if, I want to replace my 3D printer bed surface and some hot end parts. We'll see. The CyberTool is perfect for this 3D printer it has a mix of hex and screws and the pliers work well taking the hot end tube out as well as an scraping that's needed.

I think Mountain Men is the best thing I have seen in a while.  The terrain where Eustace lives is exactly like here.  Western North Carolina way of talking, although you can tell he has an education.  I have been watching it on Pluto.  Free.  Watch any season you wish.  MacGyver original season is on there with a few seasons available.  Best wishes.  G

Day 6 - catch up - Forgot to post as I was pretty tired.

No use today unfortunately so here's a morning pic drinking my coffee.  I have switched to a "fresher" paper clip so that Clipper could go back to relaxing.  No need to abuse him.  I have also switched to my first SAK which is a Tinker.

May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.

First, happy belated birthdays to marlowe221 and Storm! :drink:

Second, Zippo does or did indeed make tape measures. I used to have one. It was nominally two inches square, and it had a decent-sized tape. It originally had a logo (International-Harvester, I believe) that fell off. :twak:

Third, great work by awl! :2tu:

No action shots, but the Boatsman helped to replace the hose I trimmed the other day with a fresh one. Turns out there was a whole part missing from the setup, no wonder I was having issues. Not sure who set it up originally, but
