I think I might like this change to Climber.  I didn't much notice the change from 84mm to 91mm, but the extra layer does feel a little bulky.  I did carry the SwissChamp one day without difficulty but was wearing different pants.  Pockets are not all the same.  Best wishes. G

I agree.  I normally wear the same style cargo shorts.  When I wear different brand or style, I hate how things feel different.
Day 23

It took some time for me to get my MacGyver juices flowing, so to speak.  I finally broke through, and the true hero came out.
A trip to town started it.  When I reached the end of my driveway, I noticed something wasn't quite right.  I figured out what it was in a flash.  An old brown Chevy truck was parked next to my mailbox.  Aha.  Something was happening.  A man was rolling on the ground behind the vehicle.
I parked and walked over.  Might be something a MacGyver could fix.  If he was rabid, or maybe had been snake bit, I could just veer left a little and check my mail before leaving.  I decided to assume a local accent and open a dialogue with the nutjob.
"What's up, Bud?"  He told me he had lost his band-aid.  He checked one box for nutjob right there.  Then he said old brown had blown out a tire at the stop sign about 50 yards farther up the road.  Then he had tried to deploy the jack and mashed the cat urine out of his thumb.  He held his hand up in proof.  The thumb nail was free at top and bottom, and held on by whatever holds a smashed thumb nail on in the early stages.  Plus at one time a band-aid.  He was trying to find his band-aid that had fallen off so he could continue with his repairs.
As his tale of woe continued, I evaluated.  Walked around the truck a little.  Smashed thumb nail?  Check.  No band-aid?  Check.  Flat tire?  Check.  I decided that running for my life or stomping his head while he was lying on the ground were both unnecessary.  I MacGyvered.
I mentioned that I didn't carry a band-aid, but did have some duct tape.  He refused.  I saw then that he wasn't in a fit state of mind to make decisions for himself.  I quickly sat on his back and pulled his hand off to one side in a jiu-jitsu Kimura grip.  Out came the duct tape and quickly his digit was wrapped.
After things settled down a bit, I got up and he rolled over.  Then he explained why he didn't want the duct tape.  He couldn't get it off without it ripping off his tender thumb nail.  I apologized for assuming he was out of his head with pain.  He said that was okay.  He also said I had taped the wrong thumb anyway and continued looking for his lost band-aid.
I wished him luck and continued my trip to town.  On the way back, I saw his truck still in the same spot.  He was sitting inside smoking a ciggie with a tire on the ground.  He made no effort to flag me down for more MacGyvering, so I went home.
      Best wishes  G
PS Oh yeah, I am carrying a Climber for a while.

Give Fisher a treat. :pok:
Oh, he got a treat.  I shared some chicken with him.

A glamour shot for today.  Use the Yeoman to open a box, as well as cut opened a bag of chips.

Day 24

Did a walk down to the mailbox.  Check the mail.  Look and see if the tire changer had done something vengeful to my poor battered mailbox.  Or maybe dropped a pocket knife on the ground?
I cut a few overhanging branches with the Climber.  Very small stuff, but annoying and in the way.  Opened a can of beans with the Vic can opener later.  I jig and jag for a while and when I get it half way open I bend the lid up.  Saves time.  These are slow, crappy openers but they will serve in a pinch.  I didn't notice the extra bulk of the Climber at all.  Go figure.
Started to do some lawn equipment maintenance, but got rained out.
Best wishes,  G

Day 22:

Another boring office day, but I went to a Houston Astros game Tuesday night. I got to watch in style from my company’s rented suite because someone at work offered me tickets for some reason.

My secret agent equipment for the game consisted of duct tape, paperclip, pocket flashlight, and Craftsman 4-way screwdriver in my wallet. No SAK because of stadium metal detectors.
Current SAKs: Explorer, SwissChamp, Handyman (modded), Climber, Super Tinker, Tinker, Woodsman (modded), Electrician, Pioneer, SwissTool, Executive, Ambassador, Champion Plus
Current Leatherman tools: PST, Original Wave, Wave, Wave+, Blast, Bond, Curl, Style PS, Micra

Day 24

Laid back day for me, advantage of being retired. 😎

Yesterday eye exam and dilation is pain!  Catching up on mail and a couple letters I needed to write.

No action yet, or non expected.
[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Did catch myself examining two SAKs, a EVO10, a variety from 84mm challenge and the SPORTSMAN a 84mm I acquired during this challenge. Tool load out is the same,  same length.  The only difference is the files face opposite directions.  EVO out, toward the  back side scale.
The Sportman, file surface is inward toward main blade.
[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Also, each files surface cut is different, yet each are effective.

If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Sometimes, especially if we clean the bathroom or travel, my wife and I mix our toothbrushes up. They're different colors, but I don't always remember (especially when we wind up with stuff like blue and black vs black and blue). Cutting a little notch in mine solves the problem.

Another arrival!?!
Believe it or not, I've only purchased one knife this year...and as of this post, I only own 20% of it. :D

CyberTool & Lego shuttle today
:like: I have that set myself. Whomever designed it did a first-rate job.

Sliced open a new roll with the Sapphire Tinker
I do that pretty regularly. The external wrapper gets cut off at the top of the next can in line, as flush as possible. Doing so makes them a lot less apt to roll around in a drawer.

Great work, y'awl! :2tu:
