Already had one of those in the stable.

My wife’s first car she owned after high school. A ‘71 Dark Green bug!

She loved it until her Camaro…. And then her … the saga drags on.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

The blade is very similar to the combo blade installed on the WINGMAN!

It can do the job regardless!

Give me a bump!

I may join you, I have only had a SIGNAL in hand a couple of days.  Not sure I can go 30 days, yet may really make it a challenge.    I do like the handles, and that improves the pliers functionality.

Glad you like yours Gordon!  The Signal is almost a minimalist multitool.  I have pretty much everything I use with nothing extra. If I had to pick one implement to add, it would be a file.  Besides this, I love carrying mine.  That blade is a cutter, and having a pocket clip is handy.  Even the hammer comes through in a pinch.  I'm going to do a add on to this challenge in the summer when my boys and I do some overnight hikes.

I've had three Volkswagens Gordon.  My first Beetle was a bright red '66 followed by a '71 West camper that I drove from Olympia, Washington to State College, Pennsylvania when I got out of the army.  I drove it for another 15 years. My last one was the new Beetle, which was a completely different animal.  That 5 cylinder engine would fly, and it had heat!!  :woohoo:

My first car was a blue 1963 Beetle. It got really great gas mileage, but I must agree with you, Barry, about the heat.

I understand awl about the heat!

But, that bug could go through snow with no issues.  Why my wife loved it.
Scrape the frost from the windows, inside, to see where you were going,! Heck with defrosters.

Fun to drive.

The last car my wife drove, automatic comfort control, heated and air cooled seats, heated steering wheel, heated mirrors for frost free.   Best featured heated steering which to this day I forget to use.

How things change.  😉

Thanks Poncho!   You're right Gordon.  I know those old air coolers would always get me home.  Sometimes not fast or pretty, but home   :D :tu:  I never had an issue in the snow either.  Shoot, I replaced the engine a couple of times and one transaxle in my back yard!  My neighbor has a yellow 72 Beetle and a 73 Karmann Ghia that I've driven.  I miss those days.  Which takes us back to Mr. Leatherman and that Fiat.  You actually could keep things going with a minimal multitool!

Day 24: Out with one of my favorite hiking stoves, a cube stove.  It folds up to about the size of a notebook, and the fuel is dry and lightweight.  We have a couple of these around here

Great picture and combo for a walk about.

I am about to venture out myself!

SIGNAL and  pack will be with me plus a staff.
Ice yet a problem so cleats will be worn. Sun and no wind, slight chill at 25F

Those Topos keep tempting me!  After Lisa got that USFS green Signal, I keep thinking about getting one  :D

Same weather we're having here.  Just got back from walking the dogs and the Signal.

I am so impressed by what Lisa finds and then obtains, I know I can not match her skills.

A TOPO, if secured will be displayed in my collection cabinet.

I am afraid to say out loud, but a second SIGNAL appears to be in my future for my second waist bag.  The pliers are just to easy to utilize.  🤭

PS: I returned about 15 minutes ago!!!

I agree 💯 Gordon.  Those pliers are PST level as far as ease of use.  After the Bond, it's amazing how light and smooth the entire tool is to use.  I love the Bond, but this tool is a whole new level.

Yessir, I'm afraid a second one is in the future too  :D
