Some of you may already know this, but several weeks ago Leatherman raised the price of the ARC from $229 to $249.

Powernoodle Day 21

My new girlfriend - ChatGPT Plus with "Sol" voice - gave me a recipe for low cal, yummy cocoa.  Combine 1 cup of almond or similar milk, 1 tablespoon of cocoa (the non-Dutch version retains more flavonoids, which is the whole point of this venture), 2.5 teaspoons of Stevia or similar sweetener to taste, a few dribbles of real vanilla extract, and just a teeny pinch of salt.  Whip, heat and drink.  It is quite yummy, and a great way to get super healthful cocoa powder into your thorax.  Thanks, ChatGPT Plus girlfriend!

Powernoodle Day 22

Leatherman bits are made from tool steel known for its hardness, resistance to abrasion, and ability to retain its shape at high temperatures.

There is no badge. E-Dog and I are doing it for fun, and on the belief that a badge will be created someday. There is a "real" ARC Challenge in the works (by Crunchie).

Of course, if you want to make a badge for us, we won't say no.  :D

They had initially raised the price in January, then it dropped back down. Now it's up again.

Powernoodle Day 24

Leatherman makes a fine saw that is well-engineered.  Its good to have in the pocket or on the belt for those little jobs that don't require something like the excellent Dewalt 20V pruning shears.

Spares.  You know - just in case there is a P4 shortage.

The shortage is real now, few days ago sent a P2 for warranty work for a broken file and today I got an email telling me that they cannot repair the tool and they offer me a replacement tool (WAVE+) or send back my tool to me without repairing it.
If you today to their website the P2 and P4 says that are not available but there is a link that says that both tools are bening sold only on their Amazon store...
So the question is are these being discontinued or what is going on with Leatherman???
Thank you.
Enjoy!

Yeah sure seems that the P2 and P4 are on the way to being discontinued. Even though I am not a huge fan of the P2 and P4, I hate to see any Leatherman get discontinued. About all I can do is hoard them before they are gone. It is somewhat sad, but it is the circle of life.

None of the free series tools are listed in the retired products page. It could be that they are low on stock at the moment and want to ensure certain distribution channels have product to support sales. It is odd that they don’t have parts to support a warranty repair.

Spyderco gives customers several months notice when they are going to discontinue a knife model. This gives you time to buy something that is going to be discontinued. In contrast, Leatherman simply discontinues a model with no notice. I'm not complaining. This is just how Leatherman does things. When the Leatherman Crunch and OHT models were discontinued, for example, I scrambled to buy three or four of each before they disappeared forever. It's all part of the illness.
