I would say that it's not quite as good as a Swisschamp, Spartan, Farmer, two Swisstools, Spirit and a Leatherman :D

Seriously, if SAKs are your thang, you are gonna love the Swisschamp.

Of course, pictures and brief review are actually the law in these parts ;)

I used to come here a lot.

Pffft!

Cybertool 41 R0xxers much harder than the SwissChamp.  Who actually uses the fish scaler?  Give me a bit driver any day. (Although the lens is sorta nice, but still doesn't match the awesomeness of the bit driver).

I do for one, as I use the ruler.  I have also heard of people using it like a serrated blade when cutting or carving fruit.  The end can be handy for working on computers as well.

Oh, it also scales fish BTW.  :D

I used it a few times for scaling fish (optional) and it wasn't anything special. The hook disgorger works well though..

Fish scaler.  Pooh-pah.

Gimme a bit driver any.

day.

Although I will grant you a hook disgorger would be good, but since I flyfish with barbless hooks, it's not needed by me.

I'm still planning on converting one of the bits to a 5mm Allen driver.  When I get that to work, then you'll all be sorry...

Sounds like you need an XLT, best of both worlds, increased fiddle factor and a limp if you decide to carry it :D

Enjoy the Swiss Champ.  Even if you don't end up carrying every day they're still great to play with.  :tu:  if you do plan to carry it I recommend getting a belt pouch, it makes all the difference.

Well I have one of these and am very happy with it;

http://www.victorinox.ch/index.cfm?site=victorinox.ch&page=3&lang=E

it is the black leather 5-8 layer pouch (4.0521.3).  That said I don't have any others to compare it to so have a look at the rest as well.  You might want to stick a notice up in the wanted lists here.   :)

I've got the one labelled "4.0521.3 Belt pouch" on Gareth's link - and it's a good fit and works well.

I actually use a Leatherman bit kit sheath.  It is lower profile than the Vic sheath, so it doesn't catch on things as much.  The Cybertool 41 (essentially the same size as a SwissChamp fits neatly inside.

It just gets lost amongst all the other junk gadgets you put in you pockets.  Having seen you EDC I have to guess you are a real 'belt & braces' man.  :D

I use the ballistic nylon sheath with Victorinox logo on it.  Many companies, including Gerber, Victorinox, etc. sell this sheath, with their logo on it.  Very durable and padded to protect the knife or tool in it.  I also use a Brigade Quartermaster's 3-way sheath in ACU pattern colors when I am in uniform to carry my Champion.  Out in civilian clothes, I use the Vic sheath previously described.

I carry my Champion Plus in a LumaHunter M3 TRANSFORMER pouch/sheath.
it's a flashlight with many interchangeable parts, but I only use the big-set-up
but the pouch isn't big enough for it!

so I put my Champ+ in it and it has a side pouch for spare batteries and I put a
small flashlight there (ultrafire B3). It still has room for a bigger Sak (couple more layers)
so when I get my SwissChamp (dreams) I'll swamp-em!  :D

Strangely WD, it's the Champion Plus I fancy getting my hands on.  I think I'm right in saying the only thing it lacks compared to the Swiss Champ is the pliers.
