I used to be a huge collector
Got the bug after I joined over a decade ago
Discovered the great names after previously buying the cheap no brand stuff
Soon discovered
Leatherman, SOG, Gerber, Victorinox which ultimately led me to discovering Wenger.
I was in my element
For years I bought everything I could, then got serious with Wenger…specifically the Rangers.
Hit the burn out and….quit!!
Not collected for a longtime, must be at least 5yrs, if not more??
Popped back to take a look how things have moved on…
Wow, biggest shock is Victorinox… they have truly stagnated. Wenger, their arch rival kept them on their toes, now they bought (and basically killed off the brand) boy have they stagnated!!!!
Since LM dropped their famous logo it seems they dropped innovation too??
SOG comes across as feeble these days compared to how they used to be
Gerber, predominantly made in China it seems…and it shows.
Sad that those early days when all the great names were producing amazing, exciting tools has gone.

I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.
