Day 4

The Classic's scissors were used to remove pesky plastic staple things from a couple of new pairs of Carhartts.

In the past 12 months, I've gone from a 36 to a 32, then a 34, and back to a 36. I fervently hope that I won't change waist sizes again. :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

~Nice Soddie, it is my favorite Case model.

Thank you!

By reviewing my display, it confirms that the SOD Buster is at the top of my favorites.  Followed by the Tribal Lock, then the Stockman 47 and 75 patterns.

And after the MacGyver adventure, the SPARTAN pattern is hard to set aside.

If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

I had the similar issue with waist shrinkage just by the change in eating routine when I found myself flying solo, be 4 years later this month.  Prayers continue my friend.

@GA 1 dad-  Your final results look amazing, juicy and flavorful just jump through the ‘net!

Lucky coworkers. 😉

:iagree:  Even though I lights requiring different batteries, as far as carry I usually stick to AAA and CR123
I haven’t 100% succeeded, but I really try to standardize my hiking, camping, and work lights on either AA or USB-C rechargeable.

Day 4

Benchmade Anonimus

The generously-sized, sculpted green G10 handle slabs are comfortable and provide a good grip without being overly aggressive.

Benchmade has taken advantage of the superior toughness of the CPM-CruWear steel to make the Anonimus thinner than many competitors’ knives in the fieldcraft/survival category.  This should make it a better cutter and slicer, but perhaps most importantly, this makes it lighter.  In fact, the Anonimus weighs in right at 6 oz on my scale (8.4 oz with sheath), which I think is reasonably light for a hard-use 5” blade.

I’m not a fan of the Cerakote, or typically any blade coating, but have to admit I don’t have much experience with this steel.  Perhaps it rusts very badly?

Full credit to Benchmade for including a nice usable sheath worthy of the knife.  Too often, it seems like even moderately expensive knives come with sheaths that are an afterthought, cheaply made, poorly suited for field use; pleased to report that this doesn’t seem to be the case here.

The (ferro rod) “striking choil” seems gimmicky to me, though I haven’t tested it.  Of course, if they had skipped the Cerakote and just put a nice hard 90-degree spine on it…

Juice to see you FX! :like:

Kaevin, that's a cheap driver with 4mm bits in the handle. This is branded Ampro, but there are tons of brands of these. Even Kershaw and Wiha have these.

Day 5

None of my 108mm Vics have the file, so I can't speak the the relative quality. I'd rate it 4/10 as a nail file. Usable, and not the worst I've had on a multitool, but not great. I think it's designed more as a match striker anyway.

I'll eventually standardize on AA for pocket flashlights. But my Olight I1R2-EOS and Lumintop Nano Frog are still going strong.

I wanted grapefruit Jarritos because it comes in a green glass bottle, but green apple Sidral Mundet is just as good.

Day 5
Used a olive green (despite looking brown) Jack to cut some duck tape to identify a container as a dog treat holder

For carry today, the Jack was joined by a Compact Tinker SAK and Acebean flashlight.
