Day 7: My day pack and the Spirit.
Love the Spirit.  I hope the day pack and kayak are indicative of fun
Thank you both!   :hatsoff:

I've been favoring Sweet Janes as of late.

Day 6

I bought this Sofirn SC13 last year for $20.  In my opinion, it gives my Olight a run for it's money at $20.  Though I must say that it does get hotter to the touch quicker than the Olights. Still for $20 it's not bad and has become part of my rotation.  When it runs out of juice, I recharge it and swap in my Olight.

(Image removed from quote.)
Sofirn does make some mice lights that just don’r get the attention of the big brands.

Three against one did not bide well for the Meijer receipt. The Bantam and the Opinel could use a sharpening or stropping. Looks like I'm gonna have to see about locating an old belt at a thrift store.

[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
That is a useful trio

You’re not allowed to brew coffee indoors?

Your GREEN Alox Farmer X does seem to dominate this setting.
I could see myself snatching one up if my path ever crosses a Green Alox in the retail wild!😎
I’m allowed to make coffee indoors,  but if I have time and the weather is nice,  outside is  preferred .  Fresh air,  looking at sky and trees, feeling the breeze Fisher sunbathing near.  All make the experience, instead of the necessity it once was.  Good for the mental health too.

Beautiful!🌹

You likely can enjoy the salt air as well!

I luv your posts, and can just imagine the improve aroma of your fresh coffee, mixed with the smell of burning wood!
Outside is good for the soul. That I agree.  But, at my advance years I am in need of a quick brew of my caffine in morning at home, then take my mug to the back patio (if not raining), to enjoy the birds heckling each other, the breeze moving the trees now with leaves unraveled and the ven sometimes the aroma of fresh spreading of manure a county farm about two miles away😳. Memories of home in my youth cleaning the milking stalls back in the day…

Awl love!😉.   And, give FISHER a scratch behind the ears please.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Are those fuel tabs in the bottle?  Hate to think that label is for coffee.

It is denatured alcohol.  I was using a Toaks alcohol stove.

You get it.  You just make yours inside before enjoying the outside air.  I can relate to the dairy farm smells.  Grew up across the road from a cow pasture,

Day 7

This iteration of the Buck 301 was BOTM a few years ago.

The two-blade versions are slimmer and lighter than the standard three-blade versions, unsurprisingly.

I also think I prefer the flat grind of these blades over Buck’s standard saber grind.

S30V blades are a nice touch, and I would like to see Buck offer a 301 with upgraded steel as part of their standard lineup.

Back springs are a little weak on mine, but not a dealbreaker.

I sometimes drink mine outdoors but I should try making the coffee outdoors for a whole different experience.  I'm sure the kids will think it's nutty and cool.  Then they'll ask me if they can roast marshmallows over the open flame.

Day 7

Use the Wenger to cut open some allergy meds for my son.

May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.

Reminds me that I should dig my utility knife out of storage and get to stropping.

Those pops of color among the green are fantastic! :like:

Another great day, y'awl! :2tu:

Day 8

The Opinel got the call to open this box. No, it did not contain any knives or multis.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

What it did contain was a sunglasses case (to replace one that disappeared) and a couple of new "micro bags." The bags double as cleaning cloths, and one of them happens to have some green.
