SAK in a bushcraft book

That said, here is the book in question. It's a great read, at least from the perspective of a bushcrafting rank noob.

On page 201, you'll find a photo of an SAK. I believe the image got mirrored somehow. The SAK looks to be a Tiger Orange Pioneer X from 2021.

I'm sure some of y'awl could have a field day spotting the fixed blades shown in the book, too.

I found a digital copy of the book you mentioned on-line, but it was in .epub format.  My old computer would display epub without an app, but the new one won't.  I also downloaded a while back a copy of one of Immler's books.  It was in German and was the one that was geared toward kid projects.  Werken mit dem Taschenmesser.
Bushcraft is interesting.  I used to look in the UK Bushcrafter forum before they became so anti-sharp things over there.  It is still a good site.  If someone wants to carve a fork, or make fire with a striker, I'm all for it.  Just not something I am going to do.  I thought about buying a Garberg a while back, but knew I would probably never baton anything.  I like the Mora idea and would probably buy one locally if anyone had them down town.  Probably a cheap model like the 511 or something.  Keep it in my belt pack.  Oh well.  Best wishes.  G

You should get a Mora Companion, Gary. Great and affordable knife. :tu:

And nice book, Farmer. :tu: I didn't know it was available in English. I have the Danish version. The author is Danish. He has written a couple of books on the subject. I can definitely recommend them.

@IMR4198: Bushcraft is indeed interesting. Maybe one day I'll get into it. And I'd say a Morakniv Garberg is pretty close to the ideal bushcraft knife.

@Dane: I was fortunate enough to find that book at the main library in Detroit. Hopefully I'll be able to find Mr. Hede's other books sometime.

The only other book by the same author I found was about Dante.  The Divine Comedy guy.  I like the looks of the Companion.  If there was one locally, I would like to see it.  I like to hold something before I buy it.  Also I never order anything.  I just signed up for the Surprise Box.  Maybe there is something in there?  Or at least something I could use in the Sak-A-Like challenge.  Yeah.  A used Mora and an off brand knife based multi of some sort.  A nice Colonial or Imperial maybe?  I used to have a Diamond Edge two blade fishing knife.  Long powder horn blade and a scaler/cap lifter.  Probably cost as much as $2 at the time.  Best wishes.  G
